Happy Valley horse racing tips
Race 1. (20:45) Renfrew C4 Handicap (1200m)
#3 – True Legend – Bet Now
True Legend scored a quality win at Sha Tin two starts back and a repeat of that effort would take him close.
The Frankie Lor-trained colt has subsequently run fourth behind Yee Cheong Pegasus and that’s hot form for this race.
Karis Teetan rides and he should be tough to beat.
Race 2. (21:15) Rhondda C4 Handicap (1800m)
#6 – Dragon Commander – Bet Now
Dragon Commander gets the services of Joao Moreira and that’s probably his best attribute. The five-year-old ran fourth at Happy Valley last start and the jockey change could make the difference.
He isn’t facing a very tough field in this assignment and punters should get good win odds for the son of Motivator.
Race 3. (21:45) Selkirk C5 Handicap (1650m)
#1 – Curling Luxury – Bet Now
The experienced seven-year-old is close to getting back to winning form. He has run three consecutive placings and the six-time winner should go close.
His best form comes at Happy Valley with 28 starts for four wins and five placings. It is a nice record and he could add to it here.
Drawing the rail and getting weight off his back helps.
Race 4. (22:15) Durham C3 Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Green Aeon – Bet Now
Green Aeon won his first two starts at Warwick Farm before running fifth in a strong race at Randwick.
The son of Snitzel has since been purchased by Hong Kong interests and he could make a winning debut on the track.
Having Joao Moreira riding is ideal and he should be competitive.
Race 5. (22:45) Renfrew C4 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Ares – Bet Now
Ares was the beaten favourite on this track last start but punters shouldn’t drop him. The Lor-trained gelding is talented at best and he only needs luck from the draw.
His maiden win came on this track in February and it is another good ride for Moreira. He could work his magic and the son of Zacinto should go well.
Race 6. (23:15) Renfrew C4 Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Sky Darci – Bet Now
Sky Darci scored his maiden win two starts back at Sha Tin and although beaten last time out, he should be right around the mark here.
The son of Darci Brahma was only three lengths behind the winner in May and getting Moreira in the saddle could see that result improve.
Drawing barrier six is ideal and he should stalk them into the straight.
Race 7. (23:45) Lancashire C3 Handicap (1650m)
#2 – Cinquante Cinq – Bet Now
Cinquante Cinq scored a breakthrough win on this track in January and he has been threatening to win again.
The Yung-trained gelding finished only a half-length behind the winner last start and that form bodes well for this race.
Zac Purton rides and the early money is on.
Race 8. (00:15) Hereford C3 Handicap (1200m)
#7 – Compassion Spirit – Bet Now
Shooting for three consecutive wins is Compassion Spirit, which recorded an easy win at Happy Valley last time out.
The son of Supreme Class was miles too good for his opposition when scoring by two lengths and a repeat could be on the cards.
It is good to see Purton stick with him, so expect a tidy effort.
Race 9. (00:50) Alnwick C2 Handicap (1000m)
#3 – Hong Kong Win – Bet Now
Hong Kong Win is a professional winner of four from 13 starts and he also owns six placings. He is coming off a tough half-length win at Sha Tin and that form bodes well.
Moreira takes the ride from the inside barrier and that is more than enough to back him in. Punters have already come for the four-year-old son of Mossman.
