Happy Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (22:15) Waterfall Bay C5 Handicap (1650m)

#1 – Galaxy Racer – Bet Now

Caspar Fownes lines up the four-year-old gelding that is coming off back-to-back placings. Those placings were his first results from nine starts, but he’s heading in the right direction.

He finished only a half-length behind the winner two back at Sha Tin before running well at Happy Valley last start.

It’s not a strong field to face and drawing barrier three helps.

Race 2. (22:45) Tin Wan C4 Handicap (1650m)

#12 – Shinealot – Bet Now

The French-bred gelding is still searching for his first win, but it won’t take long to come. He finished second at Sha Tin two starts back, before running fifth lengths behind the winner last start.

Drawing the inside barrier helps for this run and carrying 52.5kg should be enough to see him fighting out the finish.

Expect each-way odds with bookmakers.

Race 3. (23:15) Sha Wan C4 Handicap (1000m)

#4 – Winning Ways – Bet Now

Winning Ways has been running consistently this season, including a win two starts back at Happy Valley.

He followed that up with a placing behind Very Sweet Orange, which is form that will stack up nicely for this race.

Having Zac Purton in the saddle helps and the son of Lope de Vega should be right in the mix once again.

Race 4. (23:45) Tin Wan C4 Handicap (1650m)

#11 – Blooming Spirit – Bet Now

Frankie Lor lines up the four-year-old, which is in career-best form. The son of Spirit of Boom broke maiden grades in January and followed that up with a placing last start.

He doesn’t face an overly hard field here, so he could provide punters with some each-way value. Drawing barrier two helps him get a good run and carrying 55kg is ideal.

Race 5. (00:15) Shek Pai Wan C4 Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Mehboob – Bet Now

Mehboob should have won more than one race, but he’s a consistent type with six placings.

The O’Sullivan-trained gelding scored his breakthrough win in November and has recorded four consecutive placings since.

Those placings came behind some nice types, so there’s no reason why that form won’t flow on to this race.

Race 6. (00:45) Kong Sin Wan C3 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Dancing Fighter – Bet Now

Dancing Fighter hasn’t done much wrong from six career starts in Hong Kong. The four-year-old owns three wins and three second placings, so it’s tough to overlook that form.

He hasn’t raced since December, so he’s had three months off, but he could return in fine order. His most recent win came at Happy Valley when scoring by over a length, so respect his class.

Race 7. (01:15) Po Chong Wan C3 Handicap (1650m)

#4 – Sunny Lad – Bet Now

Tony Cruz lines up the son of Sepoy that comes over from Europe having made a good start to his career.

He scored a win to break maiden grades at Nottingham last June before running second last time out. That came in July, but it will be interesting to see his starting odds.

Money has come for him throughout the week, so keep him safe.

Race 8. (01:55) Kong Sin Wan C3 Handicap (1200m)

#6 – Green Reign – Bet Now

Green Reign has placed in two of his last three starts, which is good form for this race. The four-year-old gelding is a two-time winner in Australia, and he deserves a win in Hong Kong.

He hasn’t started shorter than $10 in five starts in Hong Kong, but punters will have to take shorter odds this time around.

Consider as a winning chance.
