Happy Valley horse racing tips
Race 1. (16:45) Shan Pui River C4 Handicap (1200m)
#13 – Noble Man – Bet Now
Noble Man placed on debut at Happy Valley before running eighth. However, he has been given a freshen up for this race.
The John Size-trained gelding will need some luck from barrier 13 but he looks to have some ability in the tank.
Watch for a market lead in the first.
Race 2. (17:15) Tan Shan River C4 Handicap (1800m)
#9 – Dionysus Collin – Bet Now
The four-year-old is getting close to a win after posting eight placings from 19 starts. He went close at Happy Valley last start and he could go one better.
He owns six placings from eight attempts on this track and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks through for the win.
Each-way odds should be available.
Race 3. (17:45) Tai Shing Stream C4 Handicap (1650m)
#10 – Seize the Spirit – Bet Now
The five-year-old ended his last campaign with a win at Sha Tin and he should be ready to fire now.
He has had two runs this preparation and the signs were good when running fourth on this track last time out.
Carrying 51.5kg is ideal and he’s drawn to get all favours.
Race 4. (20:15) Kam Tin River C3 Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Allied Agility – Bet Now
Allied Agility is a four-time winner from 11 starts that scored by a nose at Happy Valley last start.
He paid a good price with bookmakers and the son of Star Witness could pay each-way odds once again.
It’s a tough field but he gets a 3kg weight allowance from Alfred Chan. That should make a difference and he could go back-to-back.
Race 5. (20:45) Shan Pui River C4 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Ares – Bet Now
Frankie Lor lines up the three-year-old gelding that has made a good impression to date. He owns a win and a placing from three starts and he’s a good chance of winning here.
The son of Zacinto won by a half-length in February before running second behind Happy Good Guys in March.
It is form that should stack up nicely at this level, so keep him safe.
Race 6. (21:15) Shan Pui River C4 Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Simply Fluke – Bet Now
Simply Fluke is shooting for three consecutive wins and both wins came on this track. The Douglas Whyte-trained runner scored his wins from a wide barrier, so drawing 11 won’t be an issue.
He also gets the services of Joao Moreira in the saddle and that’s only going to help his cause.
Early money has come his way and he should go close.
Race 7. (21:45) Nam Chung River C3 Handicap (1650m)
#11 – Chairman Lo – Bet Now
John Size lines up the four-year-old gelding that owns a win and seven placings. He scored his only win two starts back at Sha Tin and anything close would be good enough.
The son of Sidereus was fifth on this track last start but only a half-length behind the winner. It’s form that shapes up nicely and we’re expecting another good effort.
Race 8. (22:15) Lam Tsuen River C3 Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Beauty Spark – Bet Now
Beauty Spark is a consistent four-year-old that hasn’t missed a placing since December. During that time, he has won once and placed in six races.
It’s a tough record to overlook and despite drawing wide, he gets weight off his back and that’s going to help.
Punters should get each-way odds to enjoy.
Race 9. (22:50) Ho Chung River C2 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Amazing Star – Bet Now
Amazing Star won four of his five starts last preparation and there’s plenty to like about that form. He resumes here and we’re expecting big money to come his way.
He’s a four-time winner on this track and with Zac Purton in the saddle, he’s going to get a lovely trip throughout.
He’s tough to beat at this level.
