Happy Valley horse racing tips
Race 1. (22:15) Colinton C3 Handicap (1000m)
#2 – Ginson – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old is a former Australian who is having his first start in Hong Kong. He owns a win and three placings from seven starts, all coming in the city.
The son of I Am Invincible finished behind the likes of Doubtland, Hanseatic and Tagaloa, which is excellent form for this level of racing.
Most of the early money has come his way, which is a good sign.
Race 2. (22:45) Stockbridge C4 Handicap (1650m)
#10 – Off the Reel – Bet @ Sportsbet
Off the Reel is only a one-race winner, but that came last time out at Happy Valley by a nose margin.
The four-year-old son of Dundeel was well-backed to win on that occasion and it was good to see him get the job done.
Carrying 54.5kg is ideal, so put him on top.
Race 3. (23:15) Myreside C5 Handicap (1650m)
#11 – Centenary Ibis – Bet @ Sportsbet
Centenary Ibis has improved with every run this preparation and his effort for fourth at Happy Valley last start was solid.
The five-year-old son of Savabeel has yet to win or place from 12 starts, but punters are getting more confident with every run.
The light weight is ideal and this is his best chance.
Race 4. (23:45) St Andrews Challenge C4 (1650m)
#7 – Ernest Feeling – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ernest Feeling owns five placings from eight starts, including four placings at Happy Valley.
The four-year-old son of Epaulette has had two starts this preparation for a placing, and although beaten as a $2 chance last start, he’s better than that.
Zac Purton rides and that should give punters confidence.
Race 5. (00:15) Murrayfield C4 Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Ka Ying Spirit – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ka Ying Spirit scored on debut at Sha Tin before placing at Happy Valley. That form should take him close against this lineup and he wasn’t far away last start.
David Hayes lines up the son of Rubick, who shouldn’t take long to get back into his winning groove. The money has come early, which is a good sign.
Race 6. (00:45) Murrayfield C4 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Romantic Warrior – Bet @ Sportsbet
Romantic Warrior scored impressively on debut when beating A Smile Like Yours by 1.5 lengths, which is an excellent form guide.
The three-year-old had good betting support on that occasion and there has been good early support with Joao Moreira in the saddle.
He looks like a good chance of going back-to-back, so include.
Race 7. (01:15) Inverleith Park C3 Handicap (1650m)
#9 – Romantic Combo – Bet @ Sportsbet
Romantic Combo got the job done by a nose at Happy Valley last start and we like his chances of scoring again.
He built nicely towards the win and with two wins and seven placings from 17 starts, he should be right around the mark.
Barrier three and carrying 53kg on his back is ideal.
Race 8. (01:50) Bruntsfield C2 Handicap (1200m)
#8 – Drops of God – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old son of Mossman is a three-time winner from seven starts and we like his chances at the weights.
He finished 2.3 lengths behind the winner last start, but prior to that he scored by a length at Sha Tin, which was a stylish effort.
52.5kg and Moreira on his back, so we’re keen to back him.
