Happy Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (20:15) Wan Chai Gap C5 Handicap (1200m)

#4 โ€“ Fox Cheunger – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Lui-trained six-year-old is only a two-time winner but one of those wins came at Sha Tin last time out.

He scored by 1.3 lengths against a tough field and the son of Hussonet shouldnโ€™t find too much trouble in this field.

Joao Moreira is a key booking and he should go close.

Race 2. (20:45) Victoria Gap C4 Handicap (1650m)

#2 โ€“ Sumstreetsumwhere – Bet @ Sportsbet

The David Hall-trained gelding is a four-time winner that rarely runs a bad race. He is coming off a third placing at Sha Tin and with three runs under his belt this season, he has the fitness edge.

The son of Highly Recommended gets 4.5kg off his back via Jerry Chau and that could be the winning difference in this race.

Drawing barrier four is ideal and punters could get each-way odds.

Race 3. (21:15) Mount Kellett C4 Handicap (1200m)

#8 โ€“ Supreme Plus – Bet @ Sportsbet

Supreme Plus is searching for three consecutive wins and both of his previous wins came on this track.

The Frankie Lor-trained five-year-old runs well at Happy Valley and with only 55kg on his back, he should be right in the thick of the action.

Karis Teetan takes the ride and despite drawing barrier 12, he is the one to beat.

Race 4. (21:45) Mount Gough C4 Handicap (1000m)

#8 โ€“ Wild West Wing – Bet @ Sportsbet

Wild West Wing gets the services of Joao Moreira and although yet to win from seven starts, he has been running close since.

The John Size-trained four-year-old finished third fresh up at Happy Valley before running second last time out.

He is a son of Exceed And Excel that is ready to win and having the best jockey in the saddle helps.

Race 5. (22:15) Mount Kellett C4 Handicap (1200m)

#1 โ€“ Hercules – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hercules couldnโ€™t have been more impressive when winning at Happy Valley last start and he has the credentials to win again.

He is a three-time winner from 25 starts and his recent form has been solid. His best form has come on this track and having Zac Purton in the saddle is ideal.

Punters have come for him early so take the price available now.

Race 6. (22:45) Lung Fu Shan C3 Handicap (1200m)

#9 โ€“ Eight Trigrams – Bet @ Sportsbet

Eight Trigrams owns two wins from his last three starts and the son of Magnus wasnโ€™t far behind a quality field last start.

Getting in this field with only 54kg is ideal and he drops a further 1.5kg with the apprentice claim. That will help his chances and his fresh-up win came by two lengths, so heโ€™s a nice type.

Drawing barrier five will give him a good run throughout and that bodes well.

Race 7. (23:15) Mount Davis C3 Handicap (1800m)

#3 โ€“ Namjong Plus – Bet @ Sportsbet

Namjong Plus has produced two solid efforts this season and he is worth following. The seven-year-old gelding is a five-time winner that was only a length behind them last start.

The son of Zacinto is a three-time winner on this track and although struggling to win recently, he has his foot on the till.

Punters will get each-way odds on race night and he only needs a touch of luck.

Race 8. (23:50) High West C2 Handicap (1650m)

#7 โ€“ Alpha Hedge – Bet @ Sportsbet

Alpha Hedge is a four-time winner from 24 starts that is coming off a two-length win at Happy Valley.

The Lui-trained six-year-old has a terrific record at Happy Valley with 11 starts for four wins and five placings.

That form is good enough to contend with this field, so put him on top.
