Happy Valley horse racing tips
Race 1. (22:15) Kam Shan C5 Handicap (1800m)
#2 – Sky Gem – Bet Now
This isn’t a very strong field and Sky Gem could take advantage. The Caspar Fownes-trained runner has finished third at his last two starts.
That includes a third placing at Sha Tin last start where he battled away nicely and form from Sha Tin stacks up nicely here.
Drawn well and Joao Moreira takes the ride.
Race 2. (22:45) Plover Cove C4 (1000m)
#1 – Best Smile – Bet Now
Best Smile is getting closer to a win after posting two placings from two starts.
The So-trained runner resumed this campaign with a second placing at Happy Valley when he finished only a neck behind the winner.
He’s only going to strengthen up from that effort and he’s an on-speed runner which could run them into the ground.
Zac Purton in the saddle helps.
Race 3. (23:15) Shek Lei Pui C4 Handicap (1650m)
#10 – Curling Luxury – Bet Now
Curling Luxury turned around some moderate form when breaking through for the win last start.
That came at Sha Tin over 1800m and it was a strong effort. Punters shouldn’t overlook form from Sha Tin as it usually stacks up well at Happy Valley.
Likely to run at nice odds and he could be worth following.
Race 4. (23:45) Shek Pik C4 Handicap (1800m)
#10 – Mister Monte – Bet Now
Mister Monte is a light weight danger and he carries only 50kg for this run.
He’s coming off a win at Sha Tin on September 15 and although he’s facing some harder opposition here, he’s helped out by carrying no weight.
His most recent run on this track was a second placing last season and we’re expecting that form to stack up nicely.
Likely to pay each-way odds with bookmakers.
Race 5. (00:15) American Club Challenge Cup (1800m)
#9 – Crown Avenue – Bet Now
Crown Avenue comes into this chasing a hat trick of wins after scoring at Sha Tin twice this season.
The Yip-trained runner won by a neck at Sha Tin before scoring by a half-length last time out. The form out of that race should stack up nicely this season.
Dropping down to 54kg in weight helps and punters will likely come for Crown Avenue late in betting.
Race 6. (00:45) Tai Lam Chung C4 Handicap (1200m)
#11 – Compassion Star – Bet Now
The Manfred Man-trained runner looked the goods when scoring at Happy Valley fresh up and he could kick on with it now.
His form last season was mixed, but it did include a good third placing three starts back. However, he turned that form around with a good showing last start.
Tough field here but punters will get good value with bookmakers.
Race 7. (01:15) Tai Tam C3 Handicap (1200m)
#13 – Dancing Fighter – Bet Now
Dancing Fighter hasn’t done much wrong to date and that shows with his race record.
The Fownes-trained runner has had three starts for a win and two placings. That includes a close second placing at Sha Tin last start and that form holds up well.
He’s a nice type on the rise and although drawing barrier 13 won’t make it easy, Moreira could work his magic and find some cover.
Race 8. (01:50) High Island C3 Handicap (1650m)
#7 – High Rev – Bet Now
High Rev is looking to bounce back after running sixth fresh up and he has the ability to do so.
The David Hall-trained runner showed his best form when scoring two wins from his last three starts last season.
That form would be easily good enough to win this race and from barrier five, he’s going to get a good trip in transit.
Looks a nice chance to close the card.
