Happy Valley horse racing tips
Race 1. (22:15) Wa Mei Shan C5 Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Sky Gem – Bet Now
There isn’t much form in this race and Sky Gem could take advantage of that.
The Caspar Fownes-trained runner has been up for awhile this campaign and has placed in two of his last three starts.
That’s good form for this race and most of the early money has come for Sky Gem. Follow any positive betting moves as there should be good support come race night.
Race 2. (22:45) Tin Ha Shan C4 Handicap (1000m)
#8 – Travel Datuk – Bet Now
Recent form is with Travel Datuk, which was good when finishing second at Happy Valley last start.
The Gibson-trained runner didn’t fire at his last two starts last season, but looks a much better horse this time around.
Neil Callan takes the ride from barrier seven and there have been strong bets placed already this week. Good chance.
Race 3. (23:15) Tsim Mei Fung C4 Handicap (1650m)
#8 – Flame Lily – Bet Now
Flame Lily kicked off this season in style when winning at Happy Valley on October 9.
That win came by almost a length when down in the weights and although it rises up in weight to 56.5kg, a prominent jockey is in the saddle.
Joao Moreira takes the ride for the Lor-trained runner and given its consistent form, Flame Lily should be going close to winning once again.
Race 4. (23:45) Tsim Mei Fung C4 Handicap (1650m)
#10 – Shining On – Bet Now
Joao Moreira partners the consistent runner which has had two starts this season for two placings.
The Lui-trained runner ran third at this track fresh up before running second behind Flash Famous last time out.
He’s fitter now and he was hitting the line with good authority. It won’t take much improvement for Shining On to get home first for punters.
Race 5. (00:15) Tiu Yue Yung C4 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Precious Sweetie – Bet Now
Precious Sweetie might be over the odds in this despite some good form entering this race.
The Ho-trained runner finished second fresh up on this track and he was only a head behind the winner on that occasion.
He hasn’t run a bad race for some time now, which included a win to end his season. That was a 1.8-length win in April and there’s nothing wrong with that form coming into this.
Race 6. (00:45) Hebe Hill C3 Handicap (1200m)
#14 – Snap Fit – Bet Now
Unbeaten runner for Caspar Fownes which could remain unbeaten following this Wednesday’s meeting.
He has won all three starts to date, including a last-start win on this track. That came only by a neck, but it was a solid resuming run.
Prior to that, he scored by 2.5 lengths and anything close to that form should see him fighting out the finish.
It will be interesting to see what price bookies open him up at.
Race 7. (01:15) Pyramid Hill C3 Handicap (1650m)
#1 – Invincible Missile – Bet Now
Zac Purton rides Invincible Missile, which scored a good win fresh up and followed that up with a second placing last start.
The So-trained runner scored by a neck fresh up at Sha Tin and form from that track typically stacks up nicely at Happy Valley.
Drawing barrier 10 is an obvious negative, but Purton is riding in good form and he could get the job done at each-way odds.
Race 8. (01:50) Shek Uk Shan C3 Handicap (1800m)
#7 – Clement Legend – Bet Now
Clement Legend is searching for his third consecutive win after posting wins either side of a spell.
The Shum-trained runner scored by 1.3 lengths on this track when resuming after a three-month break and that bodes well for this.
He stays down in the weights and his record second-up doesn’t show any holes.
Tough to beat.
