Racing at Happy Valley is always exciting and with nine races on offer for punters, it promises to be a good night of action.
Happy Valley horse racing tips
Race 1. (20:45) Niigata C5 Handicap (1200m)
#11 – Leisured Feet – Bet Now
Leisured Feet looks a good chance in the first after back-to-back four placings coming into this.
He made good ground from midfield at Happy Valley last start and a repeat effort should see him running close against this level of opposition.
Gets in with a very nice weight of 52.5kg and that should see him going close once again.
Race 2. (21:15) Hanshin C4 Handicap (1650m)
#13 – London Hall – Bet Now
London Hall returns from a spell and he looked good last campaign. That included back-to-back wins before running third at Sha Tin over 2000m.
He is a runner which has always been around the mark and although the wide draw isn’t going to help, he only needs luck to go close.
Watch the betting for any positive moves come race night.
Race 3. (21:45) Nakayama C4 Handicap (1200m)
#9 – Travel Datuk – Bet Now
Punters are likely to get good value with Travel Datuk, which was good enough to run back-to-back placings when last in work.
The Richard Gibson-trained runner is a progressive type which gets every chance to impress off the inside draw here.
Carries 55.5kg and punters should get each-way odds to enjoy.
Race 4. (22:15) Nakayama C4 Handicap (1200m)
#8 – Aurora Pegasus – Bet Now
Aurora Pegasus is having his fourth start already this season and that race experience is going to hold him in good stead.
Trained by Caspar Fownes, the nice type charged home for second last time out and he has attracted the attention of Zac Purton in the saddle.
There isn’t much depth to this C4 Handicap and he looks a type that could progress through the grades nicely.
Race 5. (22:45) Hanshin C4 Handicap (1650m)
#5 – Naboo Star – Bet Now
Naboo Star is another Fownes-trained runner which looks a good type in the making. He didn’t fire last start before a spell, but that came against tough opposition.
Prior to that run at Happy Valley, he had placed at his previous three starts. He pulled up with a problem last start so completely forgive that run and go again.
Joao Moreira takes the ride and that will shorten his odds considerably.
Race 6. (23:15) Nakayama C4 Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Shamport – Bet Now
The former Australian looked good when scoring fresh up last start and it was a relatively easy 1.3-length victory.
Trained by Caspar Fownes, he looks a good chance of winning again with Joao Moreira in the saddle and he has experience against some nice types.
Drawing in the middle of the pack will be ideal and he will be hitting the line nicely.
Race 7. (23:45) Japan Racing Association C2 (1650m)
#1 – Green Luck – Bet Now
Green Luck is full of class and it’s another quality type for the Fownes/Moreira pairing.
He scored a good win fresh up this season before running a close fourth late last month. He was able to beat the likes of Helene Charisma fresh up and that form should hold up nicely.
Will appreciate the extra fitness for this run and most of the early money has been placed on Green Luck to win.
Race 8. (00:15) Tokyo C3 Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Blitzing – Bet Now
Tony Cruz lines up the nice type which is having his first start this season. When last in work, he scored a good win four back before finding it tough up in grade.
However, his last two runs were good, which included a third placing last start. That form would take him close here and Moreira picks up another top-quality ride.
Should be running at each-way odds.
Race 9. (00:50) KyotoC3 Handicap (1000m)
#9 – Snap Fit – Bet Now
Snap Fit is unbeaten after two starts and he’s another runner from the Fownes stable with a big reputation.
He scored by 2.5 lengths on this track in June which followed a win on debut at Happy Valley.
There has been plenty of money placed on him to remain unbeaten and having Zac Purton in the saddle certainly helps.
