Happy Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (21:15) Tiu Keng Leng C4 Handicap (1650m)

#2 – Focus – Bet Now

Focus is fresh up for the Yiu stable and he could make a winning return. The five-year-old gelding didn’t fire last start, but his form prior included a win and consecutive placings.

The son of Per Incanto owns two wins and three placings at Happy Valley, and he goes best over this distance.

It isn’t the strongest field and Joao Moreira takes the ride.

Race 2. (21:45) Hang Hau C3 Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Peach Blossoms – Bet Now

David Hall lines up the former Australian runner, which scored a 3.3-length win at Sale last start.

He defeated a quality maiden field and that form bodes well on Wednesday. The son of Tavistock started his career in New Zealand, so he has done plenty of travelling to date.

It will be only his fourth career start, but he should go close.

Race 3. (22:15) Tseung Kwan O C5 Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Vital Spring – Bet Now

Vital Spring is a two-time winner that didn’t show much last season, but he is a past winner fresh up.

The son of Per Incanto doesn’t face an overly strong field here, so he could take advantage and run well at each-way odds.

The New Zealand-bred runner is attracting attention at odds, so expect an improved run.

Race 4. (22:45) Yau Tong C5 Handicap (1650m)

#5 – Baby Storm – Bet Now

Baby Storm hasn’t shown much to date, but he improved to run third at Happy Valley last start and that was a step in the right direction.

The son of Redwood is better over the staying distances, and racing fresh up over 1650m should suit nicely.

Blake Shinn takes the ride and punters are getting value odds.

Race 5. (23:15) Lei Yue Mun C3 Handicap (1650m)

#6 – Lightning Steed – Bet Now

Most of the money has come for Lightning Steed, which runs well at Happy Valley. The six-year-old owns three wins and three placings at this course, including three at this distance.

He has had the benefit of a start this season when finishing fourth. That is a good form guide and he should prove tough to beat.

It is a competitive field but it pays to follow the money.

Race 6. (23:45) Po Lam C4 Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Hercules – Bet Now

Five-year-old gelding Hercules is coming off some solid form last season, and he could pick up where he left off.

The son of Medaglia D’oro ran third at Happy Valley in July and although he typically runs at long odds, there has been specking for him.

Zac Purton rides and that is a good sign for punters.

Race 7. (00:15) Po Lam C4 Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Sell My Sole – Bet Now

Sell My Sole is a John Size-trained four-year-old that looked good in three runs last season.

The son of Jimmy Choux ran sixth on debut at Sha Tin before placing at Happy Valley in two subsequent runs.

Having that experience on this track is ideal and off the inside draw with Moreira riding, expect money to be coming his way.

Race 8. (00:50) Cha Kwo Ling C3 Handicap (1000m)

#8 – Eternal Harvest – Bet Now

The son of Smart Missile is a two-time winner from five starts and he ended last season with a 1.3-length victory.

He has faced tough fields throughout his career, and although facing a good field here, he could come out on top.

Dropping in weight to 54.5kg is ideal and punters are getting value odds.
