Ipswich horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:38) Tab Venue Mode C2 Handicap (800m)

#4 – Mishani Trouble – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Les Ross-trained gelding looked good winning at Rockhampton last start and that form should hold up nicely.

He showed good speed over the 1050m, so dropping to 800m shouldn’t be a problem. The son of Mahisara defeated Sherwood Prince by a nose and a repeat could be on the cards.

54kg is ideal and he has plenty of upside.

Race 2. (13:13) Ray White Ipswich Maiden (800m)

#1 – Bakuhatsu – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Edmonds-trained three-year-old has had five trials for a win and two placings, so he is well-educated.

He comes from a good stable and the addition of Robbie Fradd in the saddle should help. He’s an aggressive rider and barrier three should see him land in a good position.

Punters could get each-way odds on debut.

Race 3. (13:48) Carlton Mid C3 Handicap (1700m)

#3 – Bofors – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Stuart Kendrick-trained gelding looked good when winning last campaign and he has been threatening to win this time around.

He is a son of More Than Ready that owns a win and two placings from seven starts, so he is rarely far away from the prize.

Barrier four suits and the apprentice claim should see him right in contention.

Race 4. (14:23) Labour Day Races 3 May Maiden (1100m)

#3 – Groomed – Bet @ Sportsbet

Groomed is looking to go better than his fifth on debut and he has the ability. He was only 3.9 lengths behind the winner at Sunshine Coast and Ipswich could be ideal.

The Robert Heathcote-trained gelding showed good pace at the trials before making his debut, so the ability is there.

Taylor Marshall takes the ride and punters could get each-way odds.

Race 5. (14:58) Sirromet Maiden Plate (1200m)

#2 – Kabalega – Bet @ Sportsbet

Kabalega comes off a second placing on this track and he looks ready to break his maiden status.

The four-year-old son of Sidereus owns three placings from seven starts and this isn’t a strong maiden field, so he could take advantage.

He will need some luck from the draw but expect a top effort.

Race 6. (15:33) Cup Tickets On Sale C1 Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Dubai Dreaming – Bet @ Sportsbet

Dubai Dreaming made a good start to her career when winning at Ipswich. She scored by 1.8 lengths and it was a professional outing.

Her run at Doomben was terrible, but she clearly didn’t handle the extreme heavy track. The surface is better on Wednesday and she should appreciate being back at Ipswich.

Expect a return to form and punters could get value odds.

Race 7. (16:08) Barn Family Restaurant C3 Handicap (800m)

#1 – Motomiss – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old mare has looked good winning three of her seven starts and she looks well-placed against this lineup.

She comes off a fifth at Eagle Farm behind some smart types and getting back to midweek levels should see her winning form return.

Barrier four is ideal and we’re expecting a top effort.

Race 8. (16:43) Channel Seven BM65 (1350m)

#2 – Legal Counsel – Bet @ Sportsbet

Legal Counsel turned around his form when scoring at Gold Coast last start. He might be a nine-year-old and he might have paid $31 last start, but he’s capable of producing again.

The son of Oratorio showed a fine turn-of-foot to win and he owns six placings from 11 attempts at Ipswich, so he likes the track.

Look for value odds once again.
