Ipswich horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:35) Follow @Ipswichturfclub Maiden (1700m)
#4 – Kopangi – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kopangi finished second on debut at Gold Coast before running well enough at Sunshine Coast last time out.
The three-year-old son of Ocean Park didn’t enjoy the polytrack surface last start, but punters should expect a much better effort on grass.
Barrier three is ideal and the odds should be short.
Race 2. (14:10) Great Northern Maiden Handicap (1350m)
#1 – Buin Road – Bet @ Sportsbet
Buin Road ran seventh on debut but performed much better when running third at Ipswich last time out.
The three-year-old son of Top Echelon was only 2.7 lengths behind Kipling’s Journey, which should be a good form guide for this race.
He showed a nice turn-of-foot in the straight so include here.
Race 3. (14:48) Sirromet C2 Plate (1100m)
#4 – So Clever – Bet @ Sportsbet
So Clever has plenty of ability and the five-year-old could get back to his best on Wednesday.
The son of Choisir owns two wins and four placings from six starts, including a close third placing behind Jetty fresh up at Sunshine Coast.
Getting 3kg off his back helps and punters could get each-way odds.
Race 4. (15:23) Schweppes BM68 (1200m)
#9 – Derani – Bet @ Sportsbet
Derani is fresh up following a trial win at Gold Coast and he could hit the ground running this preparation.
The Kacy Fogden-trained son of Sebring owns two wins from eight start, including a win at Ipswich in July.
Anything close to that run is good enough here and he gets conditions to suit, so put on top.
Race 5. (15:58) Tab BM65 (2200m)
#2 – Motamayiz – Bet @ Sportsbet
The five-year-old hasn’t been in excellent form, but punters should get value odds on race day with Motamayiz.
He did enough to run third in consecutive runs at Ipswich and Eagle Farm before running seventh last start, but we wouldn’t be put off by that run.
The son of Charm Spirit gets 3kg off his back and the inside draw.
Race 6. (16:33) Seven C3 Handicap (1700m)
#7 – Elegant Drover – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old doesn’t know how to run a bad race after posting a win and four placings from six starts.
He only narrowly missed at Sunshine Coast last start when showing a good turn-of-foot, which holds him in good stead.
Carrying 54.5kg is ideal and the slight drop in distance shouldn’t worry him in the slightest.
Race 7. (17:10) River 94.9fm C5 Plate (1350m)
#6 – Brook Hill – Bet @ Sportsbet
Brook Hill is searching for consecutive wins after scoring at Gold Coast by a nose last time out.
The five-year-old son of Hinchinbrook is now a four-time winner from 21 starts, and with two wins already this campaign, he’s in good form.
He owns two placings from four attempts at Ipswich, which is good enough form to take it out.
Race 8. (17:50) The Barn Family Restaurant C1 (1350m)
#2 – Hot Escort – Bet @ Sportsbet
Hot Escort is getting closer to producing a win after rattling off three consecutive placings this preparation.
The Duncan-trained son of Top Echelon finished under a length behind the winner last start and running at Ipswich should be ideal.
Barrier three is ideal and punters should get each-way odds on race day.
