Ipswich horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (14:34) Thanks Brett From The ITC Maiden (800m)
#5 – Courtingrock – Bet @ Sportsbet
Courtingrock comes off consecutive placings at Gatton and Nanango and she showed good barrier speed throughout.
The four-year-old mare hasn’t been facing tough opposition in her career, but having Jim Byrne in the saddle is a bonus.
55.5kg is another positive, so expect another good effort.
Race 2. (15:09) Tab Venue Mode Handicap (800m)
#4 – Sequesay – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sequasay comes off a trial win at Toowoomba and although it came by a narrow margin, it was a positive outing.
The daughter of Rothesay gets all favours off the inside draw and sticking to the rail always helps on debut.
Betting will be a good guide and punters should expect each-way odds.
Race 3. (15:44) Carlton Mid Maiden (1100m)
#2 – Fire In The Hole – Bet @ Sportsbet
Matthew Dunn lines up the four-year-old gelding that comes off consecutive second placings.
The son of Spirit of Boom owns three placings from six starts and he is good enough to score an overdue win at maiden level.
James Orman takes the ride and he should be a solid each-way chance in this race.
Race 4. (16:19) Sirromet Maiden (1666m)
#1 – Brazen Breccia – Bet @ Sportsbet
Getting close to exiting maiden grades is Brazen Breccia, which has finished in the money in three of his five career starts.
The David Vandyke-trained three-year-old finished second at Sunshine Coast last start and form behind Our Rockin’ should stack up nicely.
Ryan Maloney rides from barrier five and he should be right in the thick of the finish.
Race 5. (16:54) Schweppes C3 Handicap (1350m)
#1 – Iamican – Bet @ Sportsbet
Iamican comes off back-to-back wins at Sunshine Coast and Ipswich, which has been a nice reversal of form.
The Vandyke-trained daughter of I Am Invincible likes to ride the speed and she showed that when scoring from the front last time out.
Senior rider Mark Du Plessis rides and he should help.
Race 6. (17:29) Carpet Court Ipswich C3 Handicap (1350m)
#7 – Rains Aplenty – Bet @ Sportsbet
Rains Aplenty hasn’t won for some time now but he comes off an improved second placing at Ipswich.
The five-year-old son of Manhattan Rain ran as an $81 chance on this track last start, but expect him to be much shorter in the market.
He gets 54kg on his back and Jim Byrne in the saddle, so respect his chances.
Race 7. (18:07) Grandview Stud BM65 (1666m)
#3 – Stuck With You – Bet @ Sportsbet
Stuck With You is a two-time winner this campaign and he is good enough to win his fourth career race.
The five-year-old son of Roc De Cambes scored by 1.5 lengths at Grafton last time out, which is a good showing for this level of racing.
He hails from the Dunn stable and it’s another good ride for Jim Byrne, so punters should expect a positive effort.
Race 8. (18:45) Happy Retirement Brett BM62 (1200m)
#6 – Norm’s Choice – Bet @ Sportsbet
Norm’s Choice got the job done at Ipswich last time out and she was mightily impressive when winning by four lengths last time out.
The daughter of Reward For Effort is a professional four-time winner and she gets an easy run throughout from barrier six.
Two of her wins have come at Ipswich and she should go well again.
