Ipswich hosts an eight-race card this Wednesday and we have free tips and form for every race.
Form out of the midweek races in Queensland stacks up nicely in Saturday grades and there could be a few to follow out of this meeting.
Ipswich free tips & form
Race 1. (13:55) ITC Members Day C1 Plate (2200m)
#5 – She’s Reliable to win – BET NOW
Not quite living up to her name but the ability is there and she just needs a confidence boost to beat this field.
The Kelly Schweida-trained mare ran fourth at Eagle Farm last start and that wasn’t a bad effort. She made up good ground late which is a good sign for this.
The small field should only help her cause.
Race 2. (14:34) Schweppes BM65 (1710m)
#3 – Great Keppell to win – BET NOW
Yet to win and faces some race winners here, but the son of Hinchinbrook looks set to score the elusive maiden win.
Trained by Toby Edmonds, the three-year-old ran third behind The Fire Trap on debut at Ipswich before running second at Doomben twice.
That form stacks up nicely despite his inability to win but that should change shortly.
Race 3. (15:07) Carlton Mid Maiden (1710m)
#7 – Lotus Leaf to win – BET NOW
David Vandyke lines up the Lonhro mare which is getting close to a win and this could be the race where she breaks through.
The four-year-old ran 10th on debut but quickly found improvement when running second at Sunshine Coast and she returned to good form when running second at Doomben last time out.
The rise to the mile suited the well-bred type and rising again to 1710m is another step in the right direction.
Race 4. (15:45) Dr Mervyn Fish Memorial BM65 (1350m)
#4 – Sienna Rose to win – BET NOW
Consistent filly which has had plenty of experience with 12 starts for three wins and four placings. The three-year-old went close at Doomben last time out and that form should carry on to this.
She’s a daughter of in-form sire More Than Ready and given apprentice Jag Guthmann-Chester gives her some weight relief, she looks a good bet in this.
Race 5. (16:25) Kevin Keidge Memorial Maiden (1100m)
#7 – Speedgun to win – BET NOW
Has performed well without winning but it won’t take him long to break maiden grades. The Schweida-trained gelding ran 1.7 lengths behind the winner at Ipswich last start and that track is experience is another positive.
She gets the inside draw for this and despite putting in some poor efforts to begin his career, he’s heading in the right direction and should continue to trend upwards.
Race 6. (17:05) Channel Seven C2 Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Snipstream to win – BET NOW
Michael Costa lines up the four-year-old gelding which scored his first two wins in impressive fashion and although beaten last start and his last two trials were poor, he has plenty of speed.
The son of Snippetson has been patiently handled and considering his first trial resulted in a 12.1-length defeat just a half-month before winning on debut, that bodes well for this.
Tricky draw but watch for a late betting move.
Race 7. (17:45) Sirromet C2 Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Ready For Love to win – BET NOW
Has been knocking on the door after two close placings at her last two starts. The Vandyke-trained mare ran 0.6 lengths behind the winner before being beaten by a long neck at Gold Coast last time out.
Prior to that she had to run against some smart types in Sydney and dropping back to this grade at Ipswich is a big positive.
Jeff Lloyd rides and she looks primed for a top showing.
Race 8. (18:20) Ray White Ipswich BM70 (1710m)
#3 – Takings – BET NOW
Shooting for his fourth consecutive win and he defeated a good field at Eagle Farm last time out by two lengths.
He does rise right up in the weights following that win but it’s warranted after three straight wins and he has really turned his form around.
Should be well-favoured with punters.
