Ipswich horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (13:43) Employsure BM65 (1710m)

#1 – Money Shot – Bet @ Sportsbet

Money Shot turned his debut form around with a win at Ipswich last start. The Michael Costa-trained three-year-old won by a nose when rising in distance, so stretching out to 1710m helps.

He isn’t facing much opposition here and the field of only five runners will help his chances. He has more upside than most in this field and he should be too strong in the run to the line.

Race 2. (14:18) River 94.9fm Maiden Plate (1350m)

#3 – Kipchoge – Bet @ Sportsbet

Kipchoge isn’t far off winning a race, following two placings from three starts. Trained by Tony Gollan, the three-year-old ran third in this track last start and that bodes well.

The son of Rich Enuff has run behind some smart types to date and there are no superstars in this contest.

Look for a positive run and he could get off the mark in style.

Race 3. (14:53) Ipswichturfclub Maiden (1200m)

#1 – Yulong Soldier – Bet @ Sportsbet

Team Edmonds lines up the five-year-old son of Galileo that didn’t do much wrong in four starts with Lindsay Park.

He placed in three of his four starts in Victoria and since coming to Queensland, he has scored a trial win and multiple trial placings.

Drawing barrier 18 doesn’t help but he goes close with luck.

Race 4. (15:30) Tab Venue Mode C4 Handicap (1710m)

#1 – Alderman – Bet @ Sportsbet

Alderman is finding it tough to get back to winning form, but the six-year-old is classy at best.

The Gough-trained six-year-old is a four-time winner from 18 starts, and he has an additional nine placings to his name.

His run for third at Ipswich last start was a good form indicator and he should get back to winning form shortly.

Race 5. (16:10) Carlton Mid C2 Plate (1710m)

#8 – Purrfect Deal – Bet @ Sportsbet

Purrfect Deal is a Costa-trained four-year-old that has made a positive start to her career. She owns two wins from three starts, including an easy victory last start.

She scored by 4.5 lengths in a dominant display and the daughter of Dundeel looks set to score more wins this season.

Drawing barrier two is ideal and punters will likely come for her throughout the week.

Race 6. (16:50) Sirromet BM70 (1350m)

#5 – Hearts Lifted – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hearts Lifted needs to lift just a touch to turn consistent form into winning form. The Costa-trained mare has rattled off three consecutive second placings, so she has been getting close.

The daughter of Hinchinbrook is a three-time winner from 12 starts, so she has enough ability to get back to winning form.

Michael Costa could have a big day and Hearts Lifted is a top chance.

Race 7. (17:30) Schweppes BM65 (1200m)

#6 – Soubrette – Bet @ Sportsbet

Soubrette hit the line nicely for fourth last start and she typically improves with a run under her belt.

The five-year-old owns two wins from nine starts and that was a handy effort for fourth last time out, so she will build on that effort.

The inside draw is ideal and having a senior rider in the saddle adds to her appeal.

Race 8. (18:10) Barn Family Restaurant BM65 (1200m)

#5 – Perfect Aim – Bet @ Sportsbet

Perfect Aim hasn’t shown his best form for a while now, but he has a good run coming and punters will get value odds.

The five-year-old has finished in the money in 12 of his 38 starts and his best form comes on this track, which includes five starts for a win and two placings.

Expect long odds from bookmakers.
