Ipswich horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (13:43) Carlton Mid Maiden (2180m)

#1 – Shoot Again – Bet Now

The four-year-old has had two starts for two fifth placings and this is the race looks ideal.

Trained by Tony Gollan, the four-year-old gelding was making good ground last time out and the increase in distance is ideal.

Goes from 1666m to 2180m and the son of High Chaparral looks ideally placed for a big run.

Race 2. (14:18) Under The Louvre @ Grandview Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Take Tea – Bet Now

Take Tea comes into this with two wins from four starts, including a last-start win at Gold Coast.

That was a solid on-pace performance and he could go back-to-back against a small field here.

Securing the inside draw is ideal and having a senior rider in the saddle is ideal.

Race 3. (14:53) Sky Racing R65 Handicap (2180m)

#1 – He’s The Deel – Bet Now

This is only a five-horse field and that could help He’s The Deel, which scored a good win two back.

The Stuart Kendrick-trained four-year-old backed that up with second placing at Gold Coast when he missed by a nose.

Punters should take nothing away from that performance and getting some weight off his back is a bonus.

Race 4. (15:28) Channel Seven R70 Handicap (1100m)

#5 – Ligreb – Bet Now

Four-year-old mare Ligreb is coming off a last-start win at Ipswich and she could fire again.

The daughter of Tycoon Ruler scored convincingly by 1.5 lengths after hitting the line with power and she looms as a major chance again.

Gets the inside draw here and with only 55.5kg on her back, she has the weight advantage over the rest of the field.

Race 5. (16:03) Sirromet C3 Handicap (1690m)

#1 – Tabard – Bet Now

Searching for three wins in a row is Tabard, which could continue his rise through the grades.

The four-year-old scored a narrow win at Dalby before doubling down and scoring a win at Lismore by 1.3 lengths.

He paid double-figure odds last start but punters should expect a much shorter quote this time around.

Race 6. (16:38) Schweppes Maiden Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Purroni – Bet Now

Tony Gollan lines up the three-year-old filly which hasn’t shown much to date, but has the potential to break through.

The daughter of Pierro finished off nicely for fourth at Doomben last start and this is a much easier maiden field.

She gets a few positives in her favour here. She has drawn the inside barrier and carrying 54.5kg is a bonus.

Looks set to break through against this level of opposition.

Race 7. (17:13) TAB R70 Handicap (1100m)

#9 – Exactamente – Bet Now

Four-year-old gelding Exactamente is a two-time winner which has finished in the money in six of his nine starts.

The son of Per Incanto would have needed the run last time out so the third placing at Sunshine Coast was a solid performance.

He ran second at his only start on this track and he could go one better with some luck in running.

Race 8. (17:53) Bendigo Bank Booval BM65 (1350m)

#2 – Obelos – Bet Now

Obelos is running out of chances but the switch to Queensland looks to have worked the trick.

The Chris Waller-trained five-year-old looked good early on in his career and he returned to form when placing at Doomben last start.

Having Robbie Fradd in the saddle is ideal as he’ll get the best out of him and he should run on strongly.
