Ipswich free tips & form
Race 1. (12:33) Sirromet Maiden (1350m)
#1 – Reus – Bet Now
Reus was a touch unlucky when running second at Murwillumbah last start and he could go one better here.
The three-year-old gelding has now finished second at both starts and a maiden win won’t be far away.
Drawn nicely in barrier five and the rise to 1350m won’t be an issue.
Race 2. (13:08) Carlton Mid Maiden (1350m)
#2 – Sizzling Diamond – Bet Now
There’s not much depth to this field and Sizzling Diamond could take advantage of that.
The four-year-old mare has placed in three of her seven starts and she made up big ground when running third at Ipswich last start.
Likely to get a good run in transit and having Jake Bayliss in the saddle is a bonus.
Race 3. (13:43) Follow Ipswich TC Maiden (1350m)
#1 – Smooth Move – Bet Now
Liam Birchley lines up the four-year-old which has been knocking on the door with three consecutive placings.
He’s a son of Easy Rocking which ran only 2.3 lengths behind the winner last start and form out of that race should stack up nicely.
Tricky draw but it should be well-respected in the betting and run accordingly.
Race 4. (14:18) Schweppes R70 Handicap (1700m)
#4 – Da Power – Bet Now
Punters will have to look past his recent failure at Warwick Farm and he’s taking on an easier field here.
The Kris Lees-trained runner looked much better prior to that when winning at Muswellbrook by 3.3 lengths and punters should go on that form.
Nick Keal takes some weight off his back and with a good run in transit, he should prove the hardest to beat.
Race 5. (14:53) Tab C5 Plate (1350m)
#1 – Get Stuck In – Bet Now
The Tony Gollan-trained gelding is a professional winner of five from 11 starts. He finished sixth last start but that was to be expected fresh up.
His best form was good enough to win three consecutive races at Eagle Farm and Doomben. Anything close to those performances would see him winning this.
Another premium ride for Nick Keal.
Race 6. (15:28) Bendigo Bank C3 (1200m)
#6 – Kathmandu – Bet Now
Punters need to keep the faith with Kathmandu after some less than desirable performances.
The Gollan-trained gelding hasn’t run well since arriving in Queensland but he showed enough talent as a youngster to warrant attention.
Punters should be getting nice odds and they could be worth taking on an each-way basis.
Race 7. (16:03) Seven C3 Handicap (1200m)
#8 – Decisive Heart – Bet Now
Decisive Heart has been all around the money throughout her career, which includes a win and two placings.
The Edmonds-trained mare finished third at Gold Coast last start and although she wasn’t overly impressive, she has the fitness to warrant attention.
Robbie Fradd is a good rider to have in the saddle and we’re expecting another consistent performance.
Race 8. (16:38) Whittington C1 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Black Strata – Bet Now
The Tony Gollan-trained runner was an impressive winner on debut at Doomben before running third on this track last start.
He didn’t lose any admirers with the run after getting too far back and making up good ground in the run home.
He will only get better with more racing under his belt and despite the wide draw, expect a top effort here with Brad Stewart in the saddle.
