Caulfield doesn’t often race midweek, but the premier Melbourne venue hosts an eight-race betting card this Wednesday.
The big fields will make punters extremely happy and there are also good betting fields at Warwick Farm in Sydney, so punters will enjoy a great day of racing action this Wednesday.
Note* The Caulfield card is a twilight meeting, kicking off at 4.30pm AEST.
All odds are with Sportsbet – our No. 1 rated bookmaker. New signups can claim a $501* bonus bet with Sportsbet by clicking HERE.

Race 2. (17:00) Ladbrokes BM64 (1200m)
#4 – Sia to place @ $3.40 – BET NOW
Sia has been a little disappointing since winning at Geelong in May of last year, but there’s enough talent there to suggest that she could run well at odds.
The Lindsay Park-trained filly has placed twice since that win, twice at Geelong, and she was only beaten by just over two lengths at Moonee Valley last start.
Drawing barrier 15 isn’t going to help, but she might be ridden more aggressively from the outside draw and that could help.
Race 3. (17:30) Ladbrokes Info Hub BM64 (1600m)
#12 – Persian Empire @ $2.70 – BET NOW
The three-year-old colt was a touch unlucky at Moonee Valley last start when running second by a neck.
He had to do too much work in front and that told over the final 50m. Dropping back to the mile here should help his chances and he looked well above average when winning at Sale in November.
The son of Savabeel won by 4.3 lengths on that occasion and drawing an inside barrier with Craig Williams in the saddle is going to help.
Punters have already taken the odds on offer with bookmakers.
Race 4. (18:00) Ladbrokes Challenge BM70 (2000m)
#11 – Silent General @ $2.90 – BET NOW
Silent General opened at $3.40 with bookmakers and we’re expecting his current odds to continue to drop.
The Darren Weir-trained three-year-old took on a tough field at Flemington last start where he finished seventh, but it’s his form prior that should make him tough to beat here.
He scored consecutive wins late last year before running second behind the talented Tenappy Ladies at Moonee Valley.
That form stacks up well and he’ll go close to winning this.
Race 5. (18:30) Multi Maker BM70 (1100m)
#10 – Alaskan Sun @ $4.20 – BET NOW
Local trainer Henry Dwyer lines up Alaskan Sun, which has put the writing on the wall with consecutive placings leading into this.
The four-year-old mare by Hinchinbook ran third at Moonee Valley before running a credible second at Caulfield last start.
That came behind the speedy Bella Martini and this is a much easier rating 70 field.
Bookmakers are taking good action on this runner and that’s always a good sign.
Race 7. (19:30) Ladbrokes Cash Out BM70 (1200m)
#14 – Booradley @ $3.70 – BET NOW
Booradley scored a quality win last time out at Sandown and a repeat could be on the cards.
The Lindsay Park-trained four-year-old won by a length against some up-and-coming types and that form looks good for this.
His start prior came behind Holy Seal, which finished nicely behind Nature Strip last start. That’s good form here and getting the inside draw should see him land on the speed and give a big kick in the straight.

Race 1. (13:35) Tab BM71 (1400m)
#2 – Kissing Game @ $2.30 – BET NOW
Kissing Game drifted a touch in the betting when markets opened, but she remains a top pick for this race.
The John Thompson-trained filly finished second behind Sasso Corbaro last start and it has since run in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
Her form prior to that placing included a win at Canterbury and she’s more than capable of putting together another top effort against a small field.
Race 2. (14:15) Casino Prince Maiden (1400m)
#3 – Balearic @ $5.50 – BET NOW
Chris Waller lines up Balearic, a three-year-old gelding which has placed in three of his seven race day starts.
The son of Smart Missile finished fourth at Randwick last start against a similar field to this, but he had too much work to do from the tail of the field.
That will likely be the situation again from barrier 11, but the big field is going to help his chances of getting a good tempo up front and he could be storming down the outside in the straight.
Race 6. (16:45) Schweppes BM70 (1300m)
#10 – Nines Enough @ $3.50 – BET NOW
The four-year-old mare was heavily favoured to win at Canterbury last start as the $2 favourite, but the disappointing effort left punters feeling flat.
She did have some excuses and her time was quick enough to suggest she could bounce back in this field on Wednesday.
Drawing the inside barrier is ideal and Kathy O’Hara returns to the saddle, having finished second on the mare last year.
Her opening odds of $3.90 has trimmed up considerably.
Race 7. (17:20) ATC Membership BM70 (1400m)
#12 – Danzie @ $2.90 – BET NOW
Big money has come for Danzie after opening at $3.50.
The Bjorn Baker-trained four-year-old has finished inside the top two placings in all three career starts and he returns from a spell of over six months.
He has been primed with a recent trial win where he looked impressive and that 3.8-length win was enough to give punters the all clear.
Big betting moves on Baker-trained runners is always a good sign.
