Canterbury free tips & form

Race 1. (18:15) Theraces Maiden Handicap (1200m)

#9 – Just Zerene @ $2.35 – BET NOW

Just Zerene was a boom horse on debut but failed to make any impression when running sixth behind stablemate Sun City at Doomben.

The filly by Zoustar didn’t get much luck throughout the run but she was a notable drifter in the betting before the start. Following the market before the jump will be key here, but she looks to have enough talent to score.

Race 3. (19:15) 2019 Membership BM70 (1900m)

#2 – Mystic Hill @ $3.10 – BET NOW

Kris Lees lines up the talented filly by Savabeel which showed a good turn-of-foot to win at Gosford last time out.

That win followed a tidy effort when scoring by 5.3 lengths at Taree and although her form has come in easier grades than this, she has been running quick enough times to be considered.

Rising up in distance to the 1900m is only going to help her cause and we’re confident she’s going to be the best filly that comes out of this race.

Race 4. (19:45) Canterbury Night Sprint BM72 (1100m)

#3 – Wander @ $6.50 – BET NOW

There are some nice types in this field, including Bombarding and Gwenneth, but they might go at in front for the entire race and Wander could benefit from that.

The Richard Litt-trained was a one-length winner on this track two back before travelling wide throughout last start. That form should be good enough to warrant attention here and he is paying a much better price than the other two.

$6.50 to win or take the $2.80 to run in the first two.

Race 6. (20:45) Tab Rewards BM70 (1550m)

#4 – Bring The Magic @ $3.20 – BET NOW

Chris Waller has two in this race but seeing James McDonald riding Bring The Magic would insinuate that she’s the better of the two chances.

A last start winner at Randwick, the filly by Sebring only scored by a nose but she made up good ground late and that’s a good sign going forward.

Has been backed in from an opening quote of $3.50 so consider here.

Race 7. (21:15) Australian Turf Club BM70 (1900m)

#1 – Rapido Chaparro @ $2.80 – BET NOW

The four-year-old has scored consecutive wins coming into this but has to carry 62kg for his efforts. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding was a dominant winner last start and he looks a good type for the future.

A well-bred son of High Chaparral, Rapido Chaparro scored by 6.5 lengths at Wyong and although facing a harder field here, he was stunning last start and he should kick on with it.

$2.80 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Cranbourne free tips & form

Race 1. (18:30) Tab Multiplier Maiden (1000m)

#5 – Aurora Sunset to win – BET NOW

Ran as a $1.50 chance on debut when finishing third but she should be better for the experience.

It’s not uncommon for a Richard Laming-trained runner to race at unders and she was the subject of a big move on debut, but she finished only 1.1 lengths behind the winner and she has found a winnable race here.

Race 2. (19:00) NJT Cricket Maiden (1300m)

#1 – Cape Etoile to win – BET NOW

Looking to improve on two close second placings is Cape Etoile, which will likely run as the short-priced favourite.

The Smily Chan-trained gelding finished a nose behind the winner on debut at Pakenham before running a neck behind the winner as a $1.53 chance at Cranbourne last start.

He hasn’t lost any admirers with those efforts and with a good eight months under his belt off the track, he should have strengthened up nicely for this.

Race 3. (19:30) Procon Developments Maiden (1400m)

#12 – Voodoo Queen to win – BET NOW

Well backed to win last time out, Voodoo Queen did well to run fourth after being slow to start and that bodes well for this run.

The Lindsay Park-trained three-year-old filly showed nothing on debut but there was enough betting support last start to suggest that she could have some ability.

Doesn’t find an easier field here but drawing barrier two is ideal and she represents each-way value.

Race 7. (21:30) NZB Karaka BM64 (1500m)

#7 – Rossa’s Reward to win – BET NOW

Strong winner on this track last start and he could continue on with that form. The Cindy Alderson-trained three-year-old was well-backed last start but punters should expect better odds this time around.

His form leading up to that win was good, with a placing at Yarra Valley and he looks a good chance again in this.
