The Kensington Handicap at Randwick is the feature race this Saturday and there’s some good supporting races on the card as well.
Caulfield also has its VOBIS Gold race day and we have free tips and form for the best races across both meetings this Saturday.
Randwick free tips & form
Race 1. (12:40) Events By ATC Handicap (1150m)
#1 – Hightail @ $5 – BET NOW
Peter and Paul Snowden line up the two-year-old which scored a win on debut at Kembla Grange before running a solid race at Randwick last time out.
The son of Written Tycoon ran 1.7 lengths behind Movie Role, which was a good effort considering how the race was run and that experience will do him plenty of good.
He is a duel-acceptor so might not run here but the $5 is a good price if he does.
Race 3. (13:55) Tab Highway Handicap C3 (1300m)
#1 – La Scopa @ $2 – BET NOW
The four-year-old mare looks a good bet in the Highway Handicap after running two close second placings in Queensland to prepare for this. The Matt Dunn-trained mare ran within a half-length of the winner on both occasions and that form stacks up well.
She has experience in open company when running eighth behind Torvill and then 11th behind Youngstar but this is much easier and she’s clearly the class act of the field.
Race 5. (15:05) Tab BM78 (1300m)
#5 – The Art of the Bar @ $2.50 – BET NOW
She couldn’t quite make it four wins in a row last start at Warwick Farm but the three-year-old filly looms as a winning chance here.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained daughter of Charge Forward had made the most of the wet tracks prior to that defeat but she does possess ability on a good track and should be tough to beat here at the weights.
Corey Brown is a good judge of pace and he should be able to control the pace up front.
Race 7. (16:20) Kensington Handicap (1550m)
#9 – Gresham @ $2.40 – BET NOW
Gresham isn’t the best horse in this race but carrying 52kg brings him right into contention and we’re not surprised at the betting movement.
The Waller-trained gelding ran well behind Tip Top last week when carrying 53.5kg and the further drop in weight only makes him harder to beat.
His winning strike rate of three from 19 could be better but he’s tough to pass up purely based on weights.

Race 2. (13:35) Dale Foenander BM64 (1400m)
#11 – Cincinnati Red @ $2.60 – BET NOW
Strong money has come for the four-year-old mare, which flashed home late behind Fallen Empire last start and she finds an easier field here.
The Corstens-trained daughter of Reset was a winner fresh up at Geelong by four lengths and although beaten in two subsequent runs, she hasn’t been far behind some nice types.
She won’t remain a one-win mare for very long and punters think that elusive second win could come here.
Race 3. (14:10) Donya Van Pampus BM70 (1200m)
#7 – Kaplumpich @ $3.30 – BET NOW
Hasn’t done much wrong this campaign, which included a narrow win at Moonee Valley three back and he has since run two nice races.
The Darren Weir-trained colt ran second at Sandown and backed that up with a close-up placing behind Phoneme at Flemington. Form out of that race looks good for this and the drop back in distance shouldn’t pose too many problems.
$3.30 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Race 4. (14:45) Richard Cotter BM78 (1600m)
#1 – Shokora @ $7 – BET NOW
Lindsay Park lines up the class runner of the field and although she carries a big weight, getting a claim from Lachlan King helps greatly.
She was an impressive winner at Moonee Valley two back before running sixth at Flemington last start, but she finished only 1.2 lengths behind the winner and carried a big weight.
Punters are getting value odds here and her class takes her close.
Race 5. (15:20) In Memory Aila Hinton BM84 (1100m)
#5 – Miss Norway @ $3.10 – BET NOW
We loved the way Miss Norway hit the line when winning at The Valley last start and she looks a type that could continue her winning run.
Looking to make it three wins on the bounce this preparation, the four-year-old gets into this race well off at the weights with the claimer and there’s plenty more wins in store for this impressive mare.
Fill The Flute is a handy customer but the class belongs with Miss Norway.
Race 9. (17:55) Alicia White BM84 (1100m)
#7 – Demolition @ $3.40 – BET NOW
Five-year-old Street Cry gelding which has a consistent record of four wins and six placings from 13 starts. The James Cummings-trained runner made good ground for second behind Order of Command last start and that form stacks up well for this.
He scored a win at this track three starts back and he has always promised to win at this level. That could come here and although carrying 58kg with Craig Williams in the saddle, he has carried big weights to victory in the past.
