Race 2. (12:23) The Abbey Motor Inn Maiden (1000m)
#9 – Mother To Race Her @ $7 – BET NOW
Matthew Dunn lines up the three-year-old which has one placing from four starts and wasn’t far away from them at Ballina last start.
The filly by Americain placed at Murwillumbah on debut and although she hasn’t placed since, she finds a relatively easy maiden field here.
$7 is a good price given her opposition.
Race 5. (14:43) Group 1 Feeds Handicap (1600m)
#1 – It’s Relative @ $3.40 – BET NOW
Three-year-old gelding It’s Relative comes into this with a quality win under his belt and the confidence levels should be high.
The Stirling Osland-trained runner scored by 4.3 lengths at Gunnedah last time out and he was never in doubt of scoring the win. He paid $1.73 on that occasion and punters are getting almost double the odds for this.
Drawing barrier 12 is a negative but that shouldn’t matter too much over the 1600m and we’re expecting a nice effort.
Race 6. (15:20) Grafton Guineas (1600m)
#9 – I Am Impinge @ $9 – BET NOW
Bookmakers are offering good value odds for I Am Impinge, which hasn’t won since December last year but the talent is still there.
The Toby Edmonds-trained three-year-old is coming off a seventh-place finish behind The Bostonian in a tough race last start and he shouldn’t find this any harder.
Dropping to 54kg is going to allow him to settle back and show off his turn-of-foot, which is impressive on his day.
He’s a risk but $9 is easily worth it.
Race 7. (16:00) Ramornie Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Tyzone @ $3.40 – BET NOW
Tyzone was a good thing beaten at Ipswich last time out and form behind I’m A Rippa looks good for this.
The talented Edmonds-trained sprinter has a great winning record of 13 wins from 22 starts and seven of those have come at this distance.
He should have scored three consecutive wins last start but jockey Jeff Lloyd was forced to take an inside run in the worst part of the ground. Glen Colless takes over the riding with Lloyd riding in South Africa and he looms as a big winning chance.

Race 1. (12:40) Tab Handicap (1600m)
#6 – Task And Purpose @ $2.80 – BET NOW
Chris Waller lines up the filly by Zoustar which finished second at Canterbury last time out and should build nicely on that result.
The two-year-old runner has placed twice from three starts and the rise to the 1600m looks ideal after stepping up to the 1250m last start.
Weighted well at 55.5kg, Task And Purpose should get a good run with Blake Shinn in the saddle.
Race 2. (13:15) Theraces Maiden Plate (1200m)
#5 – Taygeta @ $2.30 – BET NOW
On debut for Bjorn Baker, Taygeta looks a good chance of winning here and the market support is a good sign.
The son of Duke of Marmalade scored an impressive 3.3-length trial win at Rosehill in preparation of this and Baker has been firing with his young team of late.
Betting on the day will be a big indicator of his chances but the early signs are good.
Race 4. (14:25) Australian Turf Club BM75 (1300m)
#2 – Zonk @ $3.20 – BET NOW
Zonk is a quality midweek type which finished off well to run second at Canterbury last start. That form looks good for this and although she rises up in weight, this isn’t any harder.
The four-year-old has raced against the likes of Savatiano and Epidemic at her last three starts and dropping to this level is ideal.
The Les Bridge stable always goes well during these midweek meetings and Zonk represents value.
Race 5. (15:00) Hallowed Crown BM71 (1600m)
#3 – Mr Haussman @ $2.05 – BET NOW
Former New Zealand runner Mr Haussman has more class than most of these combined and we’ll take anything above even money.
Now with Chris Waller, the three-year-old scored two wins across the Tasman and although he hasn’t performed at his best in two Australian starts, his run for fourth at Randwick last start is a great form guide.
He’s on the quick back up and that’s usually a good sign from the Waller stables.
