It’s Queen’s Birthday weekend and we have free tips and form for Monday’s racing.
Randwick and Mornington host two quality meetings to kick-start the betting week and we have found some value bets at both cards.
Randwick free tips & form
Race 1. (12:05) Casino Prince Maiden (1400m)
#3 – Foreign Territory @ $2.65 – BET NOW
The Waterhouse/Bott team lines up Foreign Territory, which finished under a length from the winner on debut.
A gelding by Tavistock, Foreign Territory had shown good form at the trials when scoring by 6.8 lengths in a dominant display at Rosehill.
That type of trial form will take him a long way in his career and the small field is going to help his chances here.
His breeding suggests that the 1400m is right up his alley.
Race 2. (12:40) Book Spring Hospitality Maiden (1400m)
#1– Wide Spread Panic @ $2.50 – BET NOW
Another runner from the Waterhouse/Bott stable, Wide Spread Panic was heavily-backed last start when running second at Gosford and she could go one better here.
The three-year-old by Fastnet Rock finished second behind Tryst as the odds-on favourite and that followed a trial placing behind the highly-talented Seasons.
Drawing barrier three is going to help her chances and her exposed form should be too good for this field.
Race 3. (13:15) TAB Open (1550m)
#1 – Morpheus @ $2.60 – BET NOW
It was a significant turnaround in form for Morpheus last start, scoring by 3.3 lengths at Goulburn.
The Snowden-trained colt didn’t show much at his first two starts but they were run in tough two-year-old races.
An ease in quality resulted in a big win last time out and he should be able to hold that form at Randwick.
Drawing barrier two helps and James McDonald takes the ride.
Race 4. (13:50) Unconquered Sprint Maiden (1100m)
#12 – Royal Witness to place @ $2.50 – BET NOW
John Sargent lines up the talented Royal Witness, which has yet to deliver from two race day starts.
The two-year-old finished fifth on debut at Randwick but that came behind subsequent Group 1 placegetter Zousain.
He then ran a poor eighth at Canterbury but was better at the recent Randwick trials when running second behind Screen Shot.
The odds on offer are generous from bookmakers and he’s a definite place chance.
Race 6. (15:00) Queen’s Birthday BM70 (1400m)
#5 – Medovina @ $2 – BET NOW
Medovina looks a good chance for James Cummings after finishing second at Warwick Farm last start.
The three-year-old filly by Exceed And Excel has yet to finish outside of the first three placings from four starts, which includes two wins.
Her most recent win came at Kembla Grange by just under a half-length and that form should stack up nicely.
She backed that up with a narrow placing behind It’s Time For Magic last start and there’s a reason why she’s $2 in the betting.
Race 8. (16:20) ATC Owner Benefits Card BM78 (1100m)
#15 – Alassio @ $3.60 – BET NOW
Alassio is an unbeaten mare which has scored two wins from two starts, but she hasn’t had the usual introduction to racing.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained runner has won six trials throughout her career, which usually means that she needs race fitness under the belt before running on race day.
She suffered her first trial and race day loss at Warwick Farm when finishing sixth of 10 runners in a recent trial, but we wouldn’t let that put you off.
She’s a quality type which only needs luck to win again.
Mornington free tips & form
Race 3. (12:50) Luke Duhig Memorial Maiden (1200m)
#1 – Al Khabeer @ $5 – BET NOW
Lindsay Park has a good record with their juveniles and Al Khabeer fits the bill.
The three-year-old gelding has had only one trial when finishing third at Werribee but that was only a long neck behind Holy Freeze, which has been racing in good grades.
He’s a well-bred type by Commands and we’re expecting plenty of money to come from the promising gelding.
Race 5. (14:00) Anchor Point Engineering BM64 (1200m)
#1 – Emaan @ $8 – BET NOW
More than capable filly which has mixed it well with some nice types throughout her career.
The Lindsay Park-trained filly was a last-start winner at Sale when scoring by 1.3 lengths and despite drawing wide here, she likes to get back during the run.
Her form prior included a placing at Moonee Valley and that form is going to hold up well against this opposition.
She could get out to each way odds and there will be good value in that price.
Race 8. (15:50) Frankston Motor Group BM64 (1400m)
#3 – The Mayor @ $6 – BET NOW
Logan McGill lines up the three-year-old gelding which has won two from eight starts.
The son of Danerich didn’t handle conditions very well at Warrnambool but this should suit better and the inside draw should see him land on the speed.
His win at Sandown four starts back was strong and he should be paying handy each way odds in a competitive race.
