Ipswich free tips & form
Race 2. (12:10) Carlton & United Brewery BM80 (1666m)
#6 – Time Lord @ $3.90 – BET NOW
Trainer Richard Collett brings over the New Zealand gelding which scored a quality win at Sunshine Coast before running sixth behind Group 1-placed Heavenly Thought last start.
The form out of the Grand Prix is going to stack up nicely this winter and he gets the inside draw with Jeff Lloyd in the saddle.
His riding style will help the son of Guillotine and we’re expecting the Kiwis to get some of the action during the carnival.
Race 3. (12:42) Sirromet Bundamba Handicap (1100m)
#7 – Tullio @ $4.80 – BET NOW
Tony Gollan lines up the two-year-old which scored an impressive break-through win on this track last start.
The gelding by More Than Ready had finished second at Ipswich from his first two starts before scoring by 2.8 lengths last time out. That was an encouraging win going forward and he looks well-placed to take on the better horses.
Bookmakers are offering good each way value and he should be going close.
Race 4. (13:17) Queensland Time Stayers BM80 (2150m)
#14 – Evolo @ $7.50 – BET NOW
Evolo also has Grand Prix form when running eighth and his form prior has since stacked up nicely.
The three-year-old gelding scored a 2.8-length win at Sunshine Coast when beating subsequent winner Protest. That form lines up well for this and bookmakers could regret opening him up at such high odds.
It’s another good ride for Jeff Lloyd and carrying 54kg is going to bring him right into contention.
$7.50 is a great price which could shorten.
Race 5. (13:57) Schweppes Cooney Handicap (1100m)
#9 – Envy Of All @ $4.20 – BET NOW
Envy Of All finished second behind Miss Exfactor last start but she gets a significant advantage in the weights this time around.
Miss Exfactor rises up 4.5kg from her win last start and Envy Of All only rises a half-kilogram. She lost no admirers last start when making good ground from back in the field and she will likely drop back and storm home again.
She’s drifting slightly in the market after drawing barrier 12 but she won’t be worried with the draw.
Race 7. (15:17) Ipswich Cup (2150m)
#2 – Tradesman @ $1.80 – BET NOW
Tradesman has excelled since joining the Darren Weir stable and his second placing in the P.J. O’Shea Stakes last start was a quality effort.
That came following his disappointing ninth in the Group 1 Doomben Cup but this is a steep drop in class and his nearest rival in the betting is Ecuador.
He’s weighted to perfection and punters shouldn’t worry too much about the short odds on offer. They can boost multi-bet payouts as he looks tough to beat.
Race 8. (15:57) Eye Liner Stakes (1350m)
#11 – Tyzone @ $4.60 – BET NOW
Tyzone produced a huge effort to win at Doomben last start after travelling wide throughout and hitting the line with power.
The 13-time winner is a professional type for Toby Edmonds and he’s only a four-year-old. He has a big future ahead of him and the Written Tycoon sprinter could win at stakes level here.
He gets in with only 54kg on his back and he will be storming over the top of them once again.
Rosehill free tips & form
Race 1. (11:25) Australian Turf Club Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Ronstar @ $3.50 – BET NOW
The unbeaten two-year-old gelding just continues to defy them and his will to win is a positive attribute.
He’s a son of Zoustar which has won both career starts by a nose and he had to dig deep to hold off all challengers at Rosehill last start.
He doesn’t need to put margins into his rivals to impress us and we were surprised when bookmakers didn’t open him as the favourite.
$3.50 is a good price and late money could come for the nice type.
Race 4. (13:10) Theraces BM75 (1500m)
#2 – So Splendid @ $3.10 – BET NOW
Chris Waller lines up the former New Zealand runner which scored a 3.8-length win when last at the races.
The four-year-old mare has since been to the trials twice and it’s good to see money coming for her in the early stages of betting.
She has more class than her rivals in this field and running over 1500m fresh-up is going to suit. She has good fresh-up form with a win and a placing from three starts.
Each way chance at the odds.
Race 7. (15:05) Rosehill Bowling Club BM95 (1400m)
#9 – Flow @ $3.30 – BET NOW
James Cummings lines up Flow, which is always well-supported and he has attracted interest again.
The four-year-old is twice-placed when fresh and his recent trial win at Randwick was a good indication of how well he has returned this campaign.
It would be good to see a significant market push on race day and that could come given his history.
Race 9. (16:25) Sydney’s West App BM80 (1300m)
#4 – Manolo Blahniq @ $4.60 – BET NOW
The former Kiwi runner did well to run third when fresh last start and he has natural improvement in store.
Now with Tony Noonan, the four-year-old has experience running against some nice types in Melbourne and his run for third at Rosehill last start was a good hit-out.
He should land on the speed and give a good kick in the straight at each way odds.
