Race 1. (11:50) Big Swing Golf Handicap (1200m)
#1 – La Parva @ $2.40 – BET NOW
The James Cummings-trained two-year-old was a winner on debut at Ballarat before running in a strong field at Caulfield second up.
That came against the likes of Enbihaar in a strong juvenile race and she was then sent to the spelling paddock. It was a good run considering the circumstances and punters have come for her this time around.
She opened at $2.60 and has since firmed in to $2.40. Expect more money to come for the daughter of Lonhro.
Race 3. (13:00) Ladbrokes Multimaker BM78 (2040m)
#6 – Summer Glen @ $3.60 – BET NOW
Mick Price lines up the four-year-old which has won only two from 21 starts but she has placed a further 12 times. The Snitzel mare was a winner fresh-up this campaign at Echuca before running four consecutive placings.
This is her first start on this track but the tight Moonee Valley track should suit and she should be warming up as they approach the turn.
Race 4. (13:35) Banta App BM78 (2040m)
#10 – Thunder Cloud @ $2.30 – BET NOW
Darren Weir has worked his magic with Thunder Cloud, which started this campaign poorly but has won three of his last four starts.
The four-year-old gelding was a 1.8-length winner at Swan Hill last time out and his two other wins this preparation came by over 2.3 lengths.
That’s a solid record and he will start at short odds in this market.
Race 5. (14:10) Moreton Hire BM70 (1600m)
#3 – Mintha @ $1.95 – BET NOW
Mintha is a one-win filly but she has been taking on tough fields of late and the form from her most recent start has stacked up well.
The Tony McEvoy-trained three-year-old was a 9.5-length winner at Balaklava two back before running third at Flemington behind Remember The Name, which has subsequently scored a quality Saturday win on a premier card.
She opened at $2.05 and has since firmed in to $1.95, which is solid support and she should be able to secure her second career win.
Race 6. (14:45) Ladbrokes Odds Boost BM78 (1605m)
#7 – Linguist @ $4.80 – BET NOW
Linguist is a quality mare which is coming off a sixth-placing at Moonee Valley and that experience on this track will suit.
Her inconsistency has stifled her career to date but the four-win mare has scored some quality wins throughout her career. She won by 1.3 lengths at Cranbourne two starts back and she was a 2.8-length winner at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
$4.80 is a solid price and it could drop on race day.
Race 7. (15:20) Sheamus Mills Bloodstock BM84 (1000m)
#7 – Belwazi @ $2.60 – BET NOW
Jerome Hunter lines up the five-win mare which finished last at Moonee Valley two starts ago but quickly improved to run third on this track last start.
The four-year-old mare is bred to sprint by Bel Esprit and her five starts for a win and a placing at Moonee Valley is going to help her chances here. The Valley can be a horses-for-courses track and having five starts will put her right into contention.
Punters have caught on and she looks well-placed to score another win.
Race 8. (15:55) Mittys BM70 (1200m)
#2 – Demolition @ $3 – BET NOW
Demolition is a talented four-year-old gelding which ran well at Sandown last time out and has plenty of improvement left to come this preparation.
The James Cummings-trained runner hasn’t run outside of the first four at his last six starts and that’s some good consistency.
Craig Williams takes the ride at the big weight and although he will have to lump around 61.5kg, he has the class edge over this field.

Race 1. (12:50) ATC Owners Maiden (1250m)
#5 – Sweet Scandal @ $1.85 – BET NOW
Chris Waller lines up the three-year-old filly which ran well for second on debut behind Sparkly Star.
The daughter of Sepoy was a half-length trial winner at Rosehill before running on debut and there was plenty to like about the performance. She hit the line well and getting the inside draw is only going to help her chances here.
Blake Shinn is riding in good form and the odds on offer are warranted.
Race 3. (14:00) Casino Prince Handicap (1100m)
#9 – Smart Melody @ $1.55 – BET NOW
We’re taking the short odds again her but you don’t see many debut wins as impressive as Smart Melody’s.
The Kris Lees-trained runner scored by 5.3 lengths at Newcastle in a one-sided affair and that capped off some strong trial form. She placed in a trial behind Albert’s No Pussy, which has since won on debut.
The form lines stack up well and she looks more than capable of scoring another midweek win at this level.
Race 7. (16:20) Tab Rewards BM75 (1250m)
#5 – Wander @ $2.80 – BET NOW
Three-year-old gelding Wander has a professional record of four starts for two wins and two placings, which bodes well here.
The James Cummings-trained son of Lonhro finished second behind Easy Eddie at Randwick last start and he was a quality winner at Hawkesbury prior to that.
He will have to contend with a wide draw but Brenton Avdulla should find some cover and come with a storming run late.
