There is some quality racing this Wednesday at both Canterbury and Sandown.
Midweek racing is always popular with punters and we have free tips, form and odds for the best races of the day.
Canterbury free tips & form
Race 1. (12:50) Tab Maiden Handicap (1550m)
#2 – I’m A Legend @ $2.35– BET NOW
The Les Bridge stable is firing and I’m A Legend looks a good chance to continue the run.
He’s a three-year-old gelding which has run three-consecutive third placings and he’s a recent trial winner at Randwick which helps.
Getting the inside draw is going to help and jockey Jason Collett is riding in terrific form in Sydney this season.
Race 3. (14:00) Spring On Sale Maiden (1100m)
#6– Misteed @ $4.40 – BET NOW
Misteed showed plenty of ability at her first two runs before disappointing at Rosehill behind subsequent winner Fiesta.
The two-year-old filly won consecutive trials before running a close second on debut and then she was desperately unlucky at Canterbury.
Her recent trial win by 2.3 lengths was a good indication of her form leading into this and punters should be pleased with the odds on offer.
$4.40 is a great each way price.
Race 4. (14:35) Vale John Wenman BM76 (1550m)
#6 – Walk The Streets @ $2.75 – BET NOW
Chris Waller lines up four-year-old mare Walk The Streets, which resumed with a solid effort at Canterbury last start.
The daughter of Street Cry has finished in the placings in seven of her 10 starts and that consistency has rewarded each way punters throughout his career.
She’s going to get every chance from the inside draw and with only 55.5kg on her back, she’s going to be tough to hold out.
Race 6. (15:45) Australian Turf Club BM78 (1250m)
#10 – Metamorphic @ $3.90 – BET NOW
We’re respecting the ability on debut winner Tonsor, but it’s tough to overlook the effort from Metamorphic last start.
The Waller-trained gelding scorched the turf to win by 4.3 lengths at Scone and the confidence should be right up now.
The son of Fastnet Rock had been knocking on the door from his first six career starts but now that he’s broken through, it could be curtains for this field as well.
Race 7. (16:20) TAB Rewards BM70 (1900m)
#5 – Bringagem @ $3.40 – BET NOW
Money has come steadily for Bringagem throughout the week following his win last week at Gosford.
Trained by Gary Portelli, the four-year-old has always been a talented type and scoring his second career win was only a matter of time.
The same can be said for his third win and that could come on Wednesday. He scored by 2.3 lengths last start and the rise in class shouldn’t be an issue for him.
James McDonald rides and that’s always a positive.
Sandown free tips & form
Race 1. (12:25) Clanbrooke Racing Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Fighting Harada @ $3.80 – BET NOW
That was a stylish way to break maiden grades last start and there are more wins to come.
The Mick Price-trained two-year-old scored by two lengths at Sale and that came after some strong city form at Caulfield.
He finished fourth at Caulfield and although he’s drawn a touch wide here, he has good tactical pace and we’re happy with the odds on offer.
Race 2. (13:00) Blue Star Print Group BM64 (2400m)
#6 – High Energy @ $3.30 – BET NOW
High Energy stays in the same grade after running fifth at Bendigo last start. That came after consecutive runs in open grade.
The Darren Weir-trained gelding finished fourth behind Won Won Too at Caulfield before running fifth behind Group 1-placed Runaway at Flemington.
That’s great form for midweek racing and we’re expecting punters to come strongly for the well-bred type.
Race 5. (14:45) Dream Thoroughbreds BM70 (1200m)
#10 – Tahi @ $4.80 – BET NOW
The last two starts from Tahi haven’t been great performances but they have been too poor to be true.
They also came in tougher races than this and the Danny O’Brien-trained runner should cope better at rating 70.
He looked to have good potential when winning at Bairnsdale before running well for second at Sale. That form will hold up well here and the each way odds on offer are generous.
Race 6. (15:20) Clanbrooke Racing BM70 (1200m)
#1 – Grey Shadow @ $3.60 – BET NOW
Grey Shadow looks to have a nice future ahead of her and she looks a good chance in this.
The Weir-trained filly was a winner on debut at Geelong before making it two wins from three starts at Kyneton.
His effort to run fifth at Flemington last start was a good showing and he only needs to find cover from barrier 11 to be a winning hope.
Money should come for him on the day.
