Kyneton racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:30) Carlton Draught Maiden (1115m)
#9 – Brazen Diva @ $3.50
Brazen Diva is nearing a win after consecutive placings, including a second placing at Werribee last time out.
The three-year-old filly by Brazen Beau finished a half-length behind the winner and having experience only helps her cause.
Having Craig Williams riding only adds to her appeal.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (14:00) Evolve Interiors Maiden (1115m)
#7 – Ringlet @ $3.40
Looking to bounce back from an eighth at Pakenham is Ringlet, who showed better pace when placing at Wangaratta.
The three-year-old daughter of Snitzel gets all favours off the inside draw and that could be the winning of the race.
We expect money to come for her on race day, so take the $3.40.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (14:30) Hygain Maiden (1474m)
#7 – Mrs Secombe @ $2.25
Money has come for Mrs Secombe, who ran third on debut at Benalla before finishing fourth at Bendigo last time out.
The three-year-old daughter of Harry Angel has been rock-solid in betting markets, and that’s a good sign for the favourite.
We expect a tidy performance and she’s worth including in horse racing picks.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (15:00) Bet365 Never Ordinary Maiden (1215m)
#16 – Alletante @ $4.20
Money has come thick and fast for Alletante, who owns seven placings from 11 starts, and it’s about time she exited maidens.
The five-year-old has teased punters throughout her career and her recent form suggests she’s ready to pay off loyal punters.
After opening at $6, she has firmed to $4.20, and she could continue to shorten with bookmakers.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 5. (15:30) RMBL Investments Rising Stars BM64 (1215m)
#2 – Lonely Road @ $4.60
Boasting consistent form is Lonely Road, who owns a win and five placings from seven starts.
The Liam Howley-trained gelding won at Wangaratta before placing at Ballarat and Wodonga, and he has been primed with a trial run at Geelong.
Getting 3kg off his back could be enough to see him win.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 6. (16:00) Bet365 Odds Drift Protect BM58 (1474m)
#3 – Hydrogen Power @ $6.50
Hydrogen Power is getting close to an overdue win after posting placings at Seymour and Echuca.
The four-year-old gelding by The Autumn Sun has yet to fire at Kyneton, but there isn’t much depth to this field, so he could take advantage.
Getting 2kg off his back is ideal and $6.50 is a fair price from bookies.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (16:30) Global Turf BM58 (1474m)
#2 – Frost Yourself @ $5.00
Frost Yourself won at Ararat earlier this preparation before placing at Kyneton behind Super Trooper, which is a good form guide.
The six-year-old mare by Frosted owns two placings from two starts here, and getting the inside draw adds to her appeal.
We’re happy with the each-way odds available.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 8. (17:00) Anthony Stevens Macedon Ranges BM58 (1881m)
#9 – Day in Heaven @ $10.00
Value is with Day in Heaven, who won well at Stony Creek two back before placing at Horsham.
The six-year-old mare is a four-time winner, so we expected odds around $6. Punters get value odds against moderate opposition, and it’s worth taking.
Barrier two is ideal and the odds could shorten on race day.
Stake: 1.5 Units
