Livamol Classic Form Guide & Tips
1. Callsign Mav (Best Roughie – $14)
That was a big effort from Callsign Mav last time out, and he could be back to his best.
He ran third at Group 1 level, and he loves racing at Hastings, so we’re happy to include him in selections.
2. Defibrillate ($18)
His form in Australia would be good enough to figure in the finish, but he might need another run under his belt.
That’s reflected in his current odds, but he’s a first-four chance with luck in running.
3. Justaskme ($26)
Justaskme has been right around the mark throughout his career, and he owns a win and a placing from three starts at Hastings.
4. Times Ticking ($23)
He’s a quality son of Tavistock, who did well to run fourth in the Arrowfield Stud Plate behind Mustang Valley.
His odds have halved from that run, so consider.
5. Platinum Invador ($23)
He’s not running his best races, so we’re happy to leave him out of selections at the price.
We expected something around $40 for the Lisa Latta-trained runner.
6. Ladies Man ($9)
He’s knocking on the door after three consecutive placings and there has been good betting support.
With six wins on his record, including a win at his only attempt at Hastings, he could be the fresh horse on the scene.
We expect money to come for him on race day, so include him.
7. Chase ($41)
His two runs this season haven’t been ideal, so we can’t see him beating a quality field like this.
9. Cakebytheocean ($31)
Despite owning two wins from his last three starts, they didn’t come at Group 1 level.
We expect him to struggle against this level of opposition.
10. Mustang Valley (Best Bet – $2.40)
Mustang Valley is the best-performed mare in the field, and she comes off a Group 1 Arrowfield win.
The five-year-old mare by Vanbrugh owns three wins from four starts on the track, and barrier four is ideal.
We’re happy to take the odds available.
11. Aromatic ($9.50)
She’s better for two runs back from a spell, and her form last season was terrific.
We expect her to settle back from the wide draw, and she enters first four calculations.
12. Pearl of Alsace (Best Each Way – $5)
Money is coming for Pearl of Alsace, who was impressive on the line at Te Rapa last time out.
It was a win she needed to get her confidence up this campaign, and with six wins from eight starts, she’s a rising star.
She will settle back and hit the line with power.
13. Enchanted Elle ($31)
We don’t think she’s up to this level. We would prefer to back her in something much easier.
14. Poser ($41)
Poser has been a model of consistency throughout her career, and although she gets Opie Bosson riding, we can’t see her figuring in the finish.
