Mackay horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (15:10) Triple M Handicap (1050m)
#3 – Final Crime – Bet Now
Final Crime could take advantage of a small field of only five runners. The two-year-old filly has three third placings from four starts and she was close to the winner last start.
She has paid over $12 in all four starts to date but punters will be getting much shorter odds for this race.
Punters should expect a top effort against a field that doesn’t have any superstars.
Race 2. (15:47) Hot FM Maiden Handicap (1100m)
#3 – Scaramouche – Bet Now
Scaramouche is knocking on the door of a breakthrough win after going close on so many occasions.
The four-year-old gelding owns five placings from 14 starts and he has placed at his last three outings.
His most recent came at Home Hill but prior to that he recorded placings at Toowoomba and at Mackay.
This isn’t a deep field and he could score a long overdue victory.
Race 3. (16:22) TAB Bm69 (1200m)
#5 – Walk The Talk – Bet Now
Trinity Barron lines up the four-year-old gelding that is coming off back-to-back placings.
The son of Nicconi finished second on this track two back in December and backed that up with a placing at Rockhampton.
He finished only 1.1 lengths behind the winner on that occasion and with two wins from 13 starts, he is good enough to add another to his record.
Punters could get each-way odds in this race.
Race 4. (16:57) Seven News Mackay R60 (1300m)
#1 – L’amour Malade – Bet Now
L’amour Malade scored back-to-back wins either side of a spell and he was a touch unlucky last start.
The five-year-old scored narrowly at Mackay in November before running a half-length behind the winner on this track last start.
He typically improves with time and he only needs luck from an awkward barrier to figure in the finish here.
Race 5. (17:32) Taylors Solicitors Maiden (1300m)
#3 – The Swell – Bet Now
The Swell has posted three placings from four starts and there is no reason why she couldn’t win this.
She’s a daughter of Spirit of Boom that is coming off a placing at Townsville and she also has experience at Mackay.
Having had two runs this campaign is going to help her chances and with a good ride from the apprentice, she should go close to breaking through.
Race 6. (18:08) Mm Electrical Mackay BM55 (1560m)
#3 – Aberration – Bet Now
Aberration is a six-year-old gelding that carries a big weight here but is capable.
He is a son of Lonhro that has three wins and 14 placings from 33 starts and that’s a solid enough clip.
He’s a well-bred gelding that made good ground in the straight at Townsville and that’s going to help him here.
Nathan Day takes the ride and he’s an experienced type.
Race 7. (18:40) Mojo’s BM60 (1100m)
#1 – Absolute Bonza – Bet Now
Absolute Bonza is a professional winner of six from 13 starts and he’s in grand form coming into this.
The five-year-old scored four consecutive wins before running second at Nanago two back. Most of her wins have come in easier company, but she should be respected here.
She gets the inside draw and she gets every chance to score another win here.
