Moonee Valley free tips & form
Race 1. (18:30) Inglis Premier Yearling Sale Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Pelican @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Lindsay Park lines up the filly by Fastnet Rock which scored narrowly on debut before running sixth in the Blue Diamond Prelude behind eventual winner Lyre.
That form stacks up beautifully for this and given her breeding of Fastnet Rock x. Seachange, plenty is expected from the two-year-old.
Looks well placed in this grade and the odds are appealing.
Race 2. (19:00) Ladbrokes Enhanced Odds BM64 (1600m)
#4 – Ronan’s Rock @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Scored an overdue win at Sandown last start by 1.8 lengths and he could continue progressing through the grades now.
The Lindsay Park-trained colt had been promising to break through and with that win finally under his belt, we’re expecting stronger performances from now on.
Some nice types in this but he should be around the mark.
Race 3. (19:30) Ranvet Travis Harrison BM78 (2040m)
#6 – Jungle Fish @ $3.60 – Bet Now
Looking for her third consecutive win, Jungle Fish faces a steep rise in class after scoring by just under a length at Sandown last start but she looms as a winning hope.
The Mick Kent-trained mare scored by 4.3 lengths prior to that at Pakenham when running as the $1.17 favourite and punters should be happy with the increased odds here.
Much harder race but she’s in good form and the confidence is high.
Race 4. (20:00) Dynamic Print Group BM64 (1200m)
#11 – Third Coming @ $8.50 – Bet Now
Ran two solid second placings before winning by 1.3 lengths at Werribee. The three-year-old filly looked the goods last time out and although facing stiffer competition here, she is bred to handle it.
Drawing barrier four should see her land in a good position and as she gets up over more distance, expert her to improve.
$8.50 is well worth taking.
Race 5. (20:30) Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge BM78 (955m)
#1 – Makahu Boy @ $4.80 – Bet Now
The big weight might put some punters off but he’s an eight-year-old in form and should be respected here.
A six-time winner from 15 starts, the lightly-tried runner was a winner in the 55 Second Challenge last start when winning by 1.3 lengths, making it three wins from his four starts this campaign.
62kg hurts but he’s the best horse in the field and we’re expecting his odds to shorten.
Race 6. (21:00) Fisher & Paykel Stayers BM78 (2500m)
#6 – Mosh Music @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Hasn’t done much wrong in six starts to date, winning four and placing in another. The Archie Alexander-trained four-year-old is looking for a Moonee Valley hat-trick after scoring by 2.8 lengths last start.
She has improved nicely this campaign and although she rises up in grade and distance for this, she looks like a natural stayer despite her breeding suggesting otherwise.
The daughter of Moshe should go close to winning once again.
Race 7. (21:30) Fisher & Paykel Sprint BM78 (1200m)
#5 – Condor Heroes @ $8 – Bet Now
Nice odds for a runner which has raced at short odds throughout his career. Although enigmatic, the Lindsay Park-trained horse broke maiden grades well at Warwick Farm in 2017 before running behind the likes of Property, Pariah and Le Romain.
This is a significant drop in grade compared to those types and although he was left floundering in the 55 Second Challenge last start, the rise in distance helps.
Too talent to leave out of calculations at those odds.
Race 8. (22:00) WM Waste Management BM70 (1200m)
#8 – Cristal Eyes @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Another runner for Lindsay Park and it looms as a solid each-way bet in the final race of the night. The three-year-old filly scored her second win last start at Pakenham and she took advantage of the easier field.
Prior to that she had run behind Smart Melody on two occasions and having had experience at Moonee Valley, she looks a good bet to bring down the card.
