Moonee Valley free tips & form
Race 1. (18:30) Adapt Australia BM70 Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Mrs O’Malley @ $3.20 – Bet Now
The three-year-old is a quality type which has looked good winning two of her five starts to date. Her most recent win came at Pakenham last time out when scoring by two lengths.
That win is going to hold her in good stead for this and although she has run the odd poor race throughout her career, she owns enough ability to test the majority of this field.
$3.20 is a fair price on offer from bookmakers.
Race 2. (19:00) Draftkings Plate (1000m)
#11 – Sisstar @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Tony McEvoy has a good record with his juveniles and Sisstar looks the goods at this level. The Zoustar filly finished fourth behind Bella Rosa on Melbourne Cup Day and the form out of that race is strong.
She has since scored a trial win at Cranbourne and jumping from barrier three is only going to help her find a good spot in the field and launch her claim.
Should be well backed on the night.
Race 3. (19:30) Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge BM78 (955m)
#4 – Tell Me – Bet Now
Tell Me has been a consistent runner this season with three consecutive wins and a third placing at Gosford in a tough race last start.
The Hawkes-trained filly looked the goods when rising through the ranks with three wins on the bounce and she finished a half-length behind Golden Slipper winner Estijaab in a recent trial at Rosehill.
Looks well placed and set for another strong showing.
Race 4. (20:00) Powerflo BM78 (1600m)
#1 – Smart As You Think @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Big weight of 62.5kg to carry but she gets some weight relief with Ethan Brown in the saddle and she is the class runner of the field.
Despite being only a two-win mare, she ran sixth behind Oregon’s Day in a tough race at Flemington last start and that form should sit well here.
Inside draw suits and she could take advantage of a relatively moderate field.
Race 5. (20:30) Gallagher Bassett BM64 (1600m)
#10 – Divanation @ $3 – Bet Now
The lightly-tried four-year-old is having just her third start after scoring on debut by 2.3 lengths last campaign and following that up with a second placing in Adelaide.
A McEvoy-trained daughter of All Too Hard, Divanation has had a trial to prepare for the long layoff and with the amount of money placed on her in the early markets, it’s a great sign for this.
Could be a market to watch closely.
Race 6. (21:00) Ranvet Abell Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Malibu Style @ $5 – Bet Now
Nice odds on offer for a Group 1-performed gelding which has 10 wins to his name. The Neville Parnham-trained gelding scored two wins at Flemington in 2018 and those should hold in good stead for this.
His most recent run came in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes behind Voodoo Lad and although he didn’t place at his only Moonee Valley attempt, he should be better for the experience.
Currently over the odds.
Race 7. (21:30) Alister Clark Stakes (2040m)
#1 – Stars Of Carrum – Bet Now
Fiorente colt which scored over this distance at Moonee Valley last year and has been waiting for the increase in distance patiently.
Punters should discount his form over unsuitable distances this preparation and go on his staying form from 2018, where he won on this track and followed that up with a placing at Flemington in the Victoria Derby.
That’s great form and he’s a nice stayer in the making.
Race 8. (22:00) P.J. O’Brien’s Irish Pub BM64 (2040m)
#4 – Kardashing @ $3.40 – Bet Now
Scored nicely three back at Warrnambool before running consecutive second placings at Pakenham and Moonee Valley.
She drops in grade after contesting rating 70 grade last start and that warrants attention for this.
She should be around the mark once again.
