Flemington free tips & form
Race 1. (10:55) Very Special Kids Plate (1000m)
#2 – Yulong Savings @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Couldn’t have been any more impressive on debut when scoring by 3.5 lengths at Bendigo. It might not have been in a top grade but he controlled the race beautifully and showed a good turn-of-foot on the turn.
Bred to show good early speed and drawing wide down the Flemington straight isn’t the worst place to be.
Looks a nice each-way chance at $4.60.
Race 2. (11:25) Roy Higgins Quality (2600m)
#5 – Schabau @ $1.95 – Bet Now
International runner which has looked good in winning two starts at Flemington since arriving from Germany, where he won his previous two starts there as well.
Has had only eight starts but has won four and placed in four. That’s an impressive record for a staying and there have been some bets this week for his Melbourne Cup chances. He’s nowhere near that level yet but has improvement to come.
Race 3. (11:55) ATA/BOB Hoysted Handicap (1000m)
#7 – She’s So High @ $2.50 – Bet Now
Speedy mare which scored at her only start on this track and she has been primed with a recent trial win at Cranbourne.
Her form last campaign included a Fifth behind Houtzen at Randwick before winning a good race at Morphettville. That form should go well here and carrying only 54kg is going to make her tough to hold out.
Race 5. (13:00) Seppelt Wines Plate (1400m)
#4 – Age of Chivalry @ $2.30 – Bet Now
Second behind The Inevitable last start and that’s Australian Guineas form. The Ellerton/Zahra-trained three-year-old looked good prior to that when winning consecutive races at Sandown.
He’s still maturing and isn’t bomb-proof but having another run at 1400m is ideal and carrying 54kg is going to help his chances.
Race 7. (14:10) Blamey Stakes (1600m)
#1 – Material Man @ $4 – Bet Now
Didn’t like his chances in the CF Orr Stakes and Futurity Stakes and he ran accordingly but this is easier and although Johannes Vermeer is in the field, it will be wanting more ground.
Material Man, on the other hand, is up and running this campaign with two Group 1 runs and that should harden up the 14-time winner from Perth.
Gets the inside draw and that will help Lucy Warwick.
Randwick free tips and form
Race 3. (13:55) Skyline Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Castelvecchio @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Two starts for two wins and two upsets. The Richard Litt-trained two-year-old scored impressively on debut at Canterbury where he paid $61 and then he fired up in the Inglis 2YO last start.
He sat at the back of the field and came with a withering burst of speed to score an upset win at odds of $21. He defeated some nice types in that race and he deserves respect.
Chances increase if there’s some genuine pace.
Race 4. (14:30) Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m)
#3 – Anaheed @ $4 – Bet Now
Booming win on debut when scoring by four lengths and she didn’t get much luck in the Blue Diamond Preview when fifth behind Catch Me.
She’s a well-bred filly by Fastnet Rock x. Rostova and that should give punters some insight into what she has in store for her career.
$4 is likely to firm on race day.
Race 5. (15:05) Optus Liverpool City Cup (1300m)
#7 – Gem Song @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Gem Song has some good form lines coming into this and having only 53kg on his back will make him tough to beat here.
The Your Song colt has won four of his six career starts and he has beaten some talented types along the way, including Purple Sector last start.
Still on the improve and worth backing.
Race 9. (17:40) Nelune Foundation BM88 (1200m)
#8 – Renewal @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Scratched from racing last week and that is a setback, but the Hawkes-trained gelding is talented at best and carrying 54kg helps.
He hasn’t won for over a year and that might put off some punters but we’re confident that he can put his best foot forward in the final race of the day.
