She opened at $2.70 before shortening very quickly, and that’s always a good sign of what’s to come for a debutante.

She gets in with 55kg on her back, and it should be enough to take her close.

Race 2. (13:30) Lavish by P & Co Maiden (1217m)

#1 – Mighty Mystic @ $4.50

Mighty Mystic ran third on debut at Moe, and having experience on the track could be enough to get the job done.

The three-year-old son of Foxwedge will need luck from a wide barrier, but he looks to have enough speed to cross from out wide.

If he can get a soft lead, he should run well.

Race 3. (14:00) Ladbrokes Mega Multi Maiden (1017m)

Keen Observer is a $200,000 purchase for the Busuttin/Young team, and the two-year-old son of Ole Kirk could make a winning debut.

His jumpout efforts have been good, and if he brings that form to race day, he should be competitive in an even maiden field.

We expect his odds to firm on race day, so take the each-way offering.

Race 4. (14:30) Immerse Within Maiden (1628m)

#7 – Ngongotaha @ $1.75

Ngongotaha is nearing a win after three consecutive placings at Bairnsdale, Donald, and last time out at Moe.

The three-year-old son of Contributer finished two lengths behind the winner last time out, which was a tidy effort in defeat.

It won’t take him long to win, and it could come on Tuesday.

#1 – Red on Red @ $7.00

Red on Red looked good when winning at Sandown fresh up before battling well for third last time out at Sandown.

That’s good form for racing at Moe, and the eight-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the table, and he’s a four-time winner at the track.

#7 – Phantom's Chase @ $4.20

Phantom’s Chase has yet to fire in four attempts at Moe, but the four-year-old gelding is running well this preparation.

The Claire Patterson-trained gelding owns a win and seven placings from 15 starts, including two placings in heavy conditions.

The six-year-old son of Magnus has yet to finish worse than third in three starts at Moe, and his record in the wet is good.

The four-year-old mare by So You Think owns a win and five placings from seven starts, and her opening odds have shortened from $3.60.

She should get a good run in transit and kick strongly.
