Moir Stakes Runner-By-Runner Guide

He’s yet to race at Sandown, but his best form comes in the spring, and he showed that last preparation when winning two tough races.

He’s a genuine Group 1 winner, unlike many runners in this field, and we thought he would open as the favourite.

We’re taking the $4.20 as a value bet.

Scored a Group 1 win last preparation, but that was followed by two moderate efforts.

He’s dangerous on his day, but we can’t include him in our Moir Stakes picks at the current odds.

She is a capable mare on her day, but her lack of consistency makes her tough to include in picks.

We would prefer to watch how she performs on Saturday for a guide to races later in the spring.

A potential first-four contender if his best form comes to the table. He won fresh up last preparation, and something close to that would be ideal.

Given the double-figure odds, we’re happy to include him in exotics.

She is a good fresh up performer, but she’ll be looking for more distance at this stage of her career.

She is another runner who we’re happy to watch on Saturday for a guide later this spring.

She won a Group 1 to end last campaign, but we’re worried about the form of Mark Walker’s Cranbourne stable.

They had two flops last week, which is a big concern, and he might be needing a few runs under his belt this spring.

She has yet to finish worse than second in three fresh up starts, and we’re not prepared to leave her out of our Moir Stakes predictions.

Her best form is good enough to compete against this field, and she should get a nice run in transit from barrier six.

The $9 odds are better than expected, so include her in picks.

It’s tough to know what Point Barrow will produce this season, but she hasn’t picked out an easy race to kick things off.

We would be surprised if she finished in the first half of the field. A last start winner, but she hasn’t been tested against this level of opposition.

A lovely type in the making who will likely sit out the back and finish strongly. There is a stack of pace in this race, so it could set up for the swoopers in Extragalactic and Giga Kick.

We’re surprised by the odds, so include her in picks to boost payouts.

One of our favourite runners to back, but we don’t think she’s well-weighted given her lack of experience in this company.

She is a good bet in group 3 racing, but at the top level, she might be found wanting late.

A speed machine, but her chances weren’t helped by the wide draw. She’ll have to cross the field, which won’t be easy.

However, she gets in with 50.5kg on her back, which is why money has come for her. We’re not leaving her out as the favourite.
