We have expert betting tips for the cards this Monday at Grafton and Benalla.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Monday meetings and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Monday horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:20) XXXX Gold Maiden (1006m)
#7 – Bow @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Donna Grisedale-trained three-year-old looked good winning a trial at Grafton and that form bodes well for this race.
He won by 2.8 lengths in a dominant trial effort, so we’re not surprised by the betting support coming his way on debut.
It could pay to watch the tote on race day.
Race 2. (13:55) Radio 2GF C3 Handicap (1006m)
#3 – Bel Academy @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Bel Academy is shooting for his third consecutive win after scoring at Coffs Harbour. He won by 2.3 lengths before scoring by just under a length last start.
The five-year-old is a three-time winner from 11 starts, and although yet to win from four attempts at Grafton, he loves the distance.
Securing the inside draw could be enough to see him win.
Race 4. (15:15) Feed ‘n’ Go Maiden (1710m)
#1 – Bold Contender @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looking to cap off four consecutive second placings is Bold Contender, who won’t take long to score his maiden win.
The Smith-trained five-year-old ran second at Port Macquarie last time out, and we expect that form to stack up nicely in this race.
Barrier 14 shouldn’t matter too much over this distance, so put him on top.
Race 7. (17:05) Get Kosciuszko Tickets BM58 (1610m)
#3 – Great Marlow @ $3.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Great Marlow scored a tidy win on this track last start and he’s capable of going back-to-back.
The six-year-old showed a good turn-of-foot to score by 1.5 lengths. That form bodes well and he’s a two-time at Grafton, so he loves the track.
He has been specked in markets since they opened, which is another good sign.
Race 2. (13:00) Noorilim Park Maiden (1206m)
#10 – Minimal – Bet @ Sportsbet
Barrier 17 isn’t ideal for Minimal, but he needs only luck to go close. The Corsten-trained debutante looked good when winning a trial at Tatura, so that bodes well.
The son of Vancouver looks to have a bright future, and although the draw makes it harder, he should go close with luck.
Race 4. (14:00) Greta West Stud Maiden (1406m)
#10 – Gobbled – Bet @ Sportsbet
Gobbled turned his form around with a second placing at Bendigo and he’s heading in the right direction.
The three-year-old son of Star Witness was only a length behind Venting, so that form is good enough to win at maiden level.
Craig Newitt rides and his experience could be enough to get the job done.
Race 6. (15:00) O’Halloran’s Garage Doors BM64 (1606m)
#3 – I’m a Bronco – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Patrick Payne-trained four-year-old scored an excellent win at Sale last start, and the form out of that race looks good.
He won by 1.5 lengths, and it followed a solid debut effort for second at Echuca. There is nothing wrong with that form, and punters could get a value price on Monday.
Race 8. (16:00) DKM Builders BM58 (1106m)
#11 – Little Miss Grace – Bet @ Sportsbet
Little Miss Grace should run at value odds. The five-year-old mare won fresh up at Albury, and although she hasn’t won since, she can bounce back.
The daughter of Stryker handles all track conditions and getting 2kg off her back is ideal, so punters should stick with her.
Punters should get double-figure odds on race day.
