Punters can find great value this week and we have our best bets available for the two Monday meetings.
Monday horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:00) Bamstone Maiden Plate (1100m)
#7 – Longduan @ $2.45 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Longduan is drifting in the betting but the three-year-old filly is a strong chance of winning on Monday.
The daughter of Written Tycoon owns four second placings from seven starts, including a placing at Moonee Valley last time out.
That form stacks up nicely for this race, so respect her chances.
Race 3. (14:10) Moyne Shire Maiden (2000m)
#8 – Double Delight @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Double Delight is knocking on the door after consecutive placings, and she meets only an even field here.
The four-year-old finished second at Geelong two back before running 1.4 lengths behind the winner on this track last month.
John Allen rides and having a strong jockey in the saddle helps.
Race 4. (14:45) Star of the West Maiden (1300m)
#13 – Tycoon Bucks @ $2.45 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Consistency is with Tycoon Bucks, which has three second placings from six starts. The four-year-old mare comes off a strong run at Sandown, and that form stacks up well.
She has been threatening to win a race for a while now, and she doesn’t face an overly strong field here.
Barrier two bodes well and Dean Yendall takes the ride.
Race 5. (15:20) Stockdale & Port Fairy BM58 (1200m)
#3 – Sandsation @ $2.45 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sandsation is only a one-time winner from eight starts, but she drops back in grade after meeting tough opposition at Flemington.
She failed in that run, but her third at Geelong is a much better form guide. She also finished fourth at Caulfield in open company, so racing in BM58 should be a dream.
The opening odds of $2.80 didn’t last long, so get the value while it lasts.
Race 7. (16:40) Port Fairy IGA Cup BM84 (1400m)
#4 – Kuramae @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kuramae hasn’t been able to win recently, but the four-year-old mare is capable of beating this opposition.
She rises in class after finishing fourth last start, but that came at Flemington, and it was a strong handicap field.
She is ideally suited at 54kg and punters get a fair price.
Race 1. (14:00) Country Championship Preview C4 (1300m)
#2 – Rothenburg @ $2.45 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Rothenburg is a runner that has the potential to win consistently, and he should put his best foot forward on Monday.
The four-year-old owns two wins and four placings from 19 starts, and he was well-backed to win the Highway Handicap last season.
It’s not a strong field here and his opening odds of $3.60 have been smashed.
Race 2. (14:35) Goulburn Soldiers Club BM58 (1600m)
#1 – Linden Tree @ $2.35 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Coming off a win at Nowra is Linden Tree, which couldn’t have been more impressive breaking maiden status.
The three-year-old gelding scored by 4.5 lengths over 1400m, and stepping up to the mile shouldn’t pose any problems.
Kathy O’Hara rides, and punters get value odds with bookmakers.
Race 4. (15:50) JCF Contracting C1 Handicap (1300m)
#7 – Zouly @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Zouly capped off a consistent start to her career with a win at Nowra, and it came easily by 2.3 lengths.
The Joe Pride-trained filly had placed in three of her first four starts, so punters are getting a consistent filly to bet on this Monday.
$4.40 is a great price and she should firm on race day.
Race 6. (17:10) Doyles Seafood Restaurant BM58 (1000m)
#3 – No Impediment @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
No Impediment scored on debut and he has since posted two placings. The five-year-old finished second at Nowra two back before running third last time out.
He was only a length behind some speedy types, and despite drawing wide, he should prove tough to beat on Monday.
It could pay to watch betting moves on race day.
