Monday horse racing tips

Warwick Farm

Race 2. (12:50) Grainshaker Vodka Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Beirut Miss @ $3.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Beirut Miss did enough on debut at Warwick Farm when finishing second as an $11 chance.

The three-year-old filly by Al Maher was 2.8 lengths behind the winner but she should find this race more to her liking.

She gets the inside draw and every possible chance of winning.

Race 3. (13:25) Ranvet BM78 (2400m)

#6 – Outlook @ $3.90 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Outlook is talented at best and the four-year-old mare is getting close to posting a win after some consistent results.

The well-bred daughter of Fastnet Rock ran second at Scone two back before running fifth at Doomben in similar conditions.

Carrying 54kg is a steal and she should be right in the mix.

Race 5. (14:35) Furphy BM72 (1400m)

#2 – Sur La Mer @ $2.35 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The Chris Waller-trained mare comes off a win at Warwick Farm and we like her chances of going back-to-back.

She won by 3.3 lengths in fine style and it came in this grade, so she can handle this opposition and win for punters again.

Hugh Bowman rides and the $2.35 could shorten to around $2 on race day.

Race 6. (15:10) Schweppes BM72 (1200m)

#9 – Daralina Belle @ $3.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Daralina Belle is getting close to posting another win after two solid efforts this preparation.

The Matthew Smith-trained four-year-old is a three-time winner from seven starts and she was close up at Caulfield last start.

That’s an excellent form guide for this race and we thought she would be shorter with bookmakers, so take the $3.50 available.

Mornington

Race 1. (12:25) The Big Screen Company Maiden (1200m)

#11 – Hypothetical @ $2.45 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Hypothetical has been heavily backed on debut and that’s often a good sign for this stable.

The three-year-old filly has looked good at the jumpouts and she’s trained at Mornington, which is another positive.

She only needs luck from the wide draw to figure in the finish.

Race 3. (13:35) Quayclean BM64 (1200m)

#8 – Vultan @ $3.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Vultan couldn’t have been more impressive when winning at Moe last start. He won by eight lengths to break maiden grades and that was a big form reversal.

He showed little in his first two runs and the three-year-old could kick on with it now that he has broken through.

Getting 2kg off his back helps and jumping from barrier two also helps.

Race 5. (14:45) Jim Marconi BM70 (2000m)

#5 – Love Takes Time @ $2.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Love Takes Time owns two wins and two placings from seven starts and she wasn’t far behind them at Sandown last start, which was a tough race.

The Freedman-trained daughter of Galileo scored a win fresh up at Pakenham and something close to that effort would be good enough.

Drawing barrier six should see her land right on the pace and kick strongly.

Race 7. (15:55) Stridefree Ron Hutchinson BM70 (1200m)

#9 – Defiant Diva @ $4.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Defiant Diva runs some of her best races fresh up and the Corstens-trained mare looks ready to fire.

The four-year-old daughter of Dissident is a winner at the distance and drawing barrier five is ideal, so punters should get a good sight.

Each-way odds are available and she’s at the top of our selections.
