We have expert betting tips for the cards this Monday at Tamworth and Moruya.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Monday meetings and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Monday horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:40) Allsopp Signs BM66 (2100m)
#7 – Little Kitten @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Little Kitten got the job done at Tamworth last start and she’s good enough to post back-to-back wins.
The four-year-old mare is a two-time winner from seven starts, with both wins coming on a good track.
Barrier five is ideal and punters are getting a generous price from bookmakers.
Race 2. (14:20) Advanced Security Group Maiden (1000m)
#3 – Fiendish @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Fiendish was heavily backed on debut at $2.70, so we’re not surprised he’s opened as the favourite on Monday.
The Paul Messara-trained gelding ran third at Tamworth, so having track experience helps, and he will be fitter for the run.
Drawing barrier 14 isn’t ideal, but he has good natural pace.
Race 3. (14:55) Hygain Maiden Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Ang Pow @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ang Pow looked good at the trials and we expect that form to stack up nicely on race day. The three-year-old son of Flying Artie comes off a trial win at Gosford.
He looked go have a nice action and he has been firmly backed throughout the week, which is a very good sign.
He draws an inside barrier, so there won’t be any excuses.
Race 6. (16:45) Tab Handicap (1000m)
#5 – Edit @ $2.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Edit owns two wins and two second placings from six starts, so he has been right around throughout his career.
The son of Swiss Ace is a former New Zealand runner that has form around some smart types, so we’re expecting his form to hold up nicely.
$2.10 could firm to around $1.50.
Race 1. (13:25) Cut and Run for Men Temora Maiden (920m)
#7 – Stella Siren – Bet @ Sportsbet
Stella Siren has been around the mark in five starts, which includes two placings. She has raced at Moruya at her last three starts, so she knows the track well.
Her effort three back for second behind Awesome Audrey is a good form guide, so we wouldn’t be overlooking her chances on Monday.
Punters should get each-way odds.
Race 3. (14:40) Collett Trucking Company BM58 (1650m)
#2 – Assertive Ace – Bet @ Sportsbet
Assertive Ace is hunting for three consecutive wins on this track after winning by a nose last time out.
The five-year-old son of Swiss Ace is unbeaten at Moruya and he handles all conditions, so we wouldn’t be leaving him out of selections.
Drawing barrier 12 is a negative, but he has time to find cover.
Race 5. (15:50) Barry Thank Thorotek Maiden (1200m)
#7 – Yorker – Bet @ Sportsbet
Yorker owns three placings from five starts, so he has been around the mark throughout his career.
The four-year-old son of Headwater has had all five starts over this distance, and he shouldn’t take long to exit maiden grades this season.
Punters should get each-way odds on race day.
Race 6. (16:25) Happy Birthday Phelpa BM66 (1425m)
#10 – My Blue Jeans – Bet @ Sportsbet
My Blue Jeans is a seven-time winner, and although not in career best form, he’s worth following at juicy odds.
The seven-year-old son of Barbados owns three wins over this distance and two wins on a good racing surface.
His most recent run on this track was better than it looked, so we’re giving him another chance at the price.
