Monday horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:30) Bet365 Top Tote Plus Maiden (1100m)
#10 – Capriccio @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Daniel Bowman lines up the three-year-old filly that finished fourth on debut at Ballarat in June.
The daughter of I Am Invincible finished only 3.5 lengths behind Peggy Selene, which has since kicked on with the job.
She is drifting in the market but the $2.20 is worth taking.
Race 2. (14:30) McKenzie Plumbing Maiden (1400m)
#11 – Seiners Express @ $3.30 – Bet Now
The three-year-old gelding finished fourth on debut at Sale, and that should take him a long way to winning this race.
He wasn’t far behind some nice types, including recent winner Frankie Pinot. It is a good form guide and the betting support has come throughout the week.
He gets the inside draw and that could be enough to score.
Race 6. (18:00) Finchetts BM58 (1100m)
#8 – Salome @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Salome is only a one-race winner from 16 attempts, but she has been threatening to win this season.
The Maher/Eustace-trained mare finished second at Swan Hill last time out, and she has every chance of going one better this time around.
John Allen rides and he should ensure a good passage throughout.
Race 7. (16:30) Tac Be Races Ready (1400m)
#2 – Millennial Girl @ $15 – Bet Now
Millennial Girl is coming off a win at Casterton, and although facing a field with more class, she could rise up to the challenge.
The four-year-old is now a two-time winner from 10 starts and with the claim of Laura Lafferty, she has a chance to win at odds.
Punters are getting a good price for the risk.
Race 8. (17:00) Hygain BM58 (1400m)
#9 – Elleofadeel @ $5 – Bet Now
The daughter of Dundeel hasn’t done much wrong during her career, which includes two wins and five placings.
She is coming off a disappointing finish at Sandown, but she drops in class and her form in Sydney was much better.
She ran fourth at Canterbury three starts back and anything close to that form will be good enough.
Race 1. (13:45) Tab Maiden Plate (1000m)
#6 – Enamour @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Enamour needs luck from the wide draw but she has been threatening to win a race for some time.
The four-year-old owns six placings from 12 starts, including three consecutive placings this preparation.
Her most recent effort came at Muswellbrook where she finished strongly to go down by a half-length. It’s good form and she should take a power of beating.
Race 2. (14:20) Cool Blue Ice Maiden (1200m)
#3 – Hurn Court @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Hurn Court is having his third consecutive start at Tamworth, and the locally-trained runner could take this out.
The three-year-old by Outreach finished third on debut before improving on that effort and running second last time out.
It is form that punters should take seriously, and he will be tough to hold out.
Race 4. (15:35) Thrifty Car Rental BM58 (1600m)
#1 – Shame Warned @ $3.90 – Bet Now
The form runner of this field is Shame Warned, who has won two of his last four starts. He has also scored two second placings, so he isn’t doing much wrong.
The Jones-trained gelding is a track specialist, with three wins and two placings at Tamworth. He also owns three wins from four starts at this track and distance.
$3.90 is a good price and it’s worth taking.
Race 5. (16:10) Jamieson Civil & Earthmoving Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Ronan’s Rock @ $2.35 – Bet Now
Ronan’s Rock is gunning for back-to-back wins following a win at Coffs Harbour. The five-year-old won by almost two lengths, and he should rise through the grades now.
The former Victorian has a fair amount of ability and his odds have been smashed. He opened at $3.80, and has been steadily backed since.
With the 3kg claimer in the saddle, he is the testing material of this field.
