Monday horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:55) Baker’s Brew Ararat Maiden (1100m)
#6 – Peregrinus @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Lindsay Park lines up the three-year-old colt that ran well in a recent trial at Wodonga.
The son of Dundeel finished third over 800m, and rising to 1100m is going to help. He is bred to go over longer distances and we are confident of his chances.
A strong rider is in the saddle and that is a good sign.
Race 3. (14:00) Tac Be Races Ready Maiden (1300m)
#12 – Acadia Road @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Acadia Road needs luck from the wide barrier but she is a capable filly in the making. She ran third on debut and she got back to her best form last time out.
The daughter of More Than Ready finished fourth at Ballarat behind Power Station, which should be a good form guide for this race.
It won’t take her long to break maiden status.
Race 4. (14:30) Gorst Rural Maiden (1600m)
#11 – Adventure Trip @ $3.60 – Bet Now
The David Brideoake-trained colt hasn’t had much luck to date but he won’t take long to score a win.
He scored back-to-back placings to kick off his career, which included a second placing at Ballarat two starts back.
He didn’t let down at Sandown last start but this is much easier and his form could improve.
Race 5. (15:00) Programmed Maiden (2000m)
#1 – Clever Approach @ $1.90 – Bet Now
Clever Approach has been a tough horse to follow since coming over from New Zealand, but he gets his best chance to win.
The son of Dawn Approach has recorded four second placings from his last five starts, and many of those have come as the short favourite.
Punters have to take the shorts again, but this race is there for the taking.
Race 8. (16:30) Ame Systems BM58 (1300m)
#7 – Tsugaru @ $5 – Bet Now
Tsugaru is a Maher/Eustace-trained gelding that scored narrowly on debut at Swan Hill, and he could go back-to-back.
The son of Kuroshio got the job done by a nose and although it was a close-run thing, he started his career off in fine style.
He only needs luck from the wide draw to go close.
Race 2. (13:35) Tab BM58 (1015m)
#2 – Tabasco @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Tabasco has been in hot form this season, which includes consecutive victories at Casino and Grafton.
The six-year-old gelding scored by a half-length on this track last start, which bodes well for another terrific effort on Monday.
He gets a good run from barrier four and money is coming for him.
Race 3. (14:10) Sky Channel BM58 (1620m)
#2 – Heza Magic Man @ $3.90 – Bet Now
Heza Magic Man could continue his fine run of form after scoring at his last two starts. The eight-year-old is searching for three consecutive wins at Grafton, so we’re sticking with him.
His most recent win came in this grade by 2.8 lengths, so that should give punters plenty of confidence that he can win again.
He gets the inside draw and $3.90 is a value price.
Race 5. (15:20) Kensei Club Maiden (1115m)
#10 – Sagacious @ $2.50 – Bet Now
Sagacious wasn’t far behind the winner when finishing second at Grafton last start, and it won’t take him long to win.
The son of Foxwedge has since placed at a trial and that fitness should do him plenty of good. His odds have firmed considerably after opening at $3, so expect more money to come.
Race 6. (15:55) Become A Sponsor BM58 (2230m)
#1 – Willo Titto @ $2.50 – Bet Now
Willo Titto is a five-year-old mare that is coming off an impressive win at Ipswich. The daughter of Pierro beat a solid field at Ipswich and that form should hold up nicely.
She is a four-time winner from 20 starts, and she also has seven placings. Getting a 2kg claimer in the saddle helps and she should be tough to beat again.
