Moonee Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (18:30) Thank You Emergency Services BM78 (2500m)

#7 – Reliabelle – Bet Now

The Doug Harrison-trained five-year-old has been running well this season. She has two wins and numerous placings, and she could add another here.

Her most recent run came at Sandown where she chased gamely and it’s good to see Craig Williams sticking with her.

55kg on her back is a bonus.

Race 2. (19:00) Quest Moonee Valley Maiden (1000m)

#4 – Spirit of Giving – Bet Now

It was a nice trial effort from Spirit of Giving to prepare for this run and he could make a winning start to his career.

The son of Bel Esprit finished only 1.3 lengths behind the winner at that trial and he’s going to get every chance off the inside barrier.

Dwayne Dunn takes the ride and he’s experience around The Valley.

Race 3. (19:30) Simpson Construction BM78 (1000m)

#9 – Pariano – Bet Now

The Lindsay Park-trained mare is coming off a win at Caulfield and she could handle the rise in class.

She’s a four-year-old that drops nicely in weight because of that rise in class and it could be enough to see her win again.

This is an even betting field and drawing barrier three should see her fighting out the finish at each-way odds.

Race 4. (20:00) Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge (955m)

#8 – Waltonia – Bet Now

Waltonia was too speedy for them at Echuca last start and she has a placing from her only start at The Valley.

The four-year-old owns three wins from 13 starts and Craig Williams takes the ride, which should give punters confidence.

They go very fast throughout this race and she has enough barrier speed to keep up.

Race 5. (20:30) Chandler MacLeod Vobis Gold (1200m)

#8 – How Wowmantic @ $2.30 – Bet Now

The Maher/Eustace team could have a nice type on their hands with this three-year-old filly.

She scored on debut at Geelong by 1.3 lengths before backing that up with a 2.3-length win at Caulfield.

She made some good horses look second rate and all the early money has been placed on the talented type.

Expect a good run and she could remain unbeaten.

Race 6. (21:00) Ladbrokes Sizzle Final BM70 (1200m)

#6 – Beauty – Bet Now

Beauty needs to start showing her form of old but she could do that here.

The four-year-old mare is coming off a tough outing at Flemington where she finished eighth. However, she won her only attempt on this track and distance.

That bodes well for a good run and bookmakers could be offering generous odds for the McEvoy-trained runner.

Race 7. (21:30) Australia Stakes (1200m)

#1 – Hey Doc @ $2.45 – Bet Now

Hey Doc returned to form with a win at Ascot at Group 1 level and that form is tops for this.

The McEvoy-trained gelding took time to get back to winning but did so in fine style at Ascot.

The best positive for punters is his record at Moonee Valley. He has had four starts here for three wins. He’s also a four-time winner over the 1200m.

Gets the inside draw and is tough to beat from there.

Race 8. (22:00) Donate to Bushfire Appeal BM78 (1600m)

#6 – Talenti – Bet Now

Talenti is talented and capable of turning around his fifth at Flemington last December.

His best form has come at Moonee Valley, where he has won both career starts. That bodes well for this run and he won’t have any worries from barrier two.

We’re expecting some big bets to come his way on race night, so lock in the value.
