Moonee Valley horse racing tips

Race 1. (17:30) Racing Photos Dig Album BM70 (1200m)

#8 – Fallen Empire – Bet Now

Fallen Empire owns two wins and three placings from six career starts, and he could kick off this campaign in style.

The Ellerton/Zahra-trained runner has drawn barrier 13 for this run, which doesn’t help, but he looks a good each-way chance in the opener.

Race 2. (18:00) Evolve Group Emma Boling Plate (1200m)

#1 – Condo’s Express – Bet Now

The three-year-old has been in work for some time now, but he’s not lacking in ability. He’s a son of Rubick that has won two of his nine races against good opposition.

His most recent run came in the Inglis Millennium behind Rubisaki, and that form has since stacked up at a high level.

Punters should be getting each-way odds.

Race 3. (18:30) Palentino/Launch Valley Peark (1200m)

#4 – Unanimous – Bet Now

The son of Deep Field wasn’t heavily backed on debut but he did the job nicely. He scored by two lengths against a solid midweek field, so that form should stack up well here.

He faces a rise in class but if there’s a good market push, he could be worth following. It will be a test but generous each-way odds could be worth taking on race night.

Race 4. (19:00) Simpson Construction BM70 (2040m)

#13 – Classic Bright – Bet Now

Classic Bright is searching for his third consecutive win and although those wins came in lower grades, they were impressive.

Trained by the Waterhouse/Bott stable, the son of Redoute’s Choice won by 3.8 lengths at Goulburn before winning at Stony Creek last start.

He owns good barrier speed, which is needed from barrier 15, and he should be paying good odds with bookmakers.

Race 5. (19:30) Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Final (955m)

#9 – Rebel Miss – Bet Now

Rebel Miss owns plenty of speed and that’s a good asset to have in this race. The Matthew Smith-trained sprinter has past experience winning at The Valley and that helps.

She’s a five-time winner overall, with another nine placings to her record. It’s a good overall record and she’s more than capable of handling this field.

Craig Williams takes the ride and that only helps her chances.

Race 6. (20:00) Dynamic Print Alexandra Stakes (1600m)

#1 – Le Tene – Bet Now

Le Tene is the class runner of this field and she deserves to be well-backed. The James Cummings-trained filly scored a big win at Caulfield two back, before running behind Rubisaki.

It’s a good form guide coming into this race and the daughter of Helmut should be able to get back to winning form.

Brad Rawiller takes the ride from barrier four, so she won’t have to do much work in the run.

Race 8. (21:00) Sheamus Mills Sunline Stakes (1600m)

#7 – Bam’s on Fire – Bet Now

Bam’s on Fire is proving to be a good bet this season, after winning at Sandown in January and running well since.

The four-year-old mare owns four wins and 10 placings from 17 starts, so the class is there. Her recent performances have come behind stakes types, and although facing a similar field here, she can hold her own.

Punters should be getting each-way odds.
