Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:21) Holdfast Insurance BM66 (1100m)
#5 – Celestine – Bet Now
Team McEvoy lines up the three-year-old filly that won on debut at Murray Bridge and she could remain unbeaten.
The daughter of Nicconi scored by a length after sitting on the pace and she showed good professionalism in the run to the line.
Carrying 54.5kg is ideal and having Barend Vorster in the saddle helps.
Race 2. (12:56) Tab BM78 (2006m)
#5 – Classy Joe – Bet Now
Classy Joe hasn’t had much success at this track in the past but he is in career-best form this preparation.
The six-year-old scored a win at Gawler three back and returned to form when scoring at Bordertown last time out.
Carrying 54kg is ideal and he could add some value to this contest.
Race 3. (13:31) AAMI BM72 (1100m)
#3 – Deep Dive – Bet Now
Deep Dive was too good for the opposition at Geelong last start and that form bodes well for Morphettville.
The Freedman-trained son of Deep Field won by two lengths and getting the inside draw to jump from is ideal for this race.
Two of his wins have come at this distance and he could add another.
Race 4. (14:11) West Adelaide F.C. BM68 (2500m)
#1 – Exalted Ruth – Bet Now
Exalted Ruth has been in fine form this preparation, which has included a recent win and two minor placings.
The five-year-old mare won by a narrow margin three starts back and she has been a touch unlucky in two runs since.
Sophie Logan takes weight off her back and a good ride should get the job done.
Race 5. (14:51) Schweppes BM72 (1600m)
#2 – Territory Titan @ $2.40 – Bet Now
Gunning for five consecutive wins is Territory Titan, which kicked away for an easy three-length win at Morphettville last start.
The five-year-old son of Red Element is a seven-time winner from 25 starts and three of those have come at this distance.
$2.40 is a respectable price for a quality runner on the rise.
Race 6. (15:31) Fleurieu Milk Company BM58 (1506m)
#3 – Meehni – Bet Now
Meehni is improving with every run and that resulted in a 4.5-length win last time out.
The McEvoy-trained daughter of Sebring sat off the pace and came with a big run down the outside of runners.
It holds her in good stead for the rest of her career and she won’t be contained by BM58 grades for very long.
Race 7. (16:11) Spring Stakes (1200m)
#2 – Behemoth @ $2.65 – Bet Now
Behemoth doesn’t win as often as some punters would like but he is a behemoth of a horse that could take out the feature.
The David Jolly-trained five-year-old won a trial by 2.5 lengths to prepare for this race and that should have him ready to fire.
His best form comes at Morphettville and the early betting support has come his way. The $2.65 is a fair price by bookmakers and one that should be snapped up.
Race 8. (16:51) Furphy BM64 (1200m)
#5 – Galahad Guru – Bet Now
The five-year-old could provide punters with value odds in this race and he has the ability to score the win.
He is a son of Camelot that owns a win and a placing from six starts and one of those placings came at Morphettville.
It is an even field and we are expecting a tidy effort in the penultimate.
Race 9. (17:30) M&J Chickens BM58 (1100m)
#9 – Narrative Star – Bet Now
Narrative Star is coming off a win at Gawler and she looks good enough to kick on with it now.
The McEvoy-trained daughter of Purrealist made a sharp improvement on her debut effort at Geelong and she should run at value odds here.
Team McEvoy could have a big day out at Morphettville and Narrative Star could end the day on a high.
