Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:26) Furphy Plate (1050m)
#1 – Unstoppabelle @ $1.90 – Bet Now
The two-year-old filly looked good when winning on debut at Morphettville before taking on a good field last start.
That run came at Flemington where she finished third behind Conceited and she shoukd enjoy coming back to the scene of her debut win.
She draws ideally in barrier four and the money is on.
Race 2. (14:06) Adelaide Cup 1MW (1538m)
#1 – Maserartie Boy @ $3.40 – Bet Now
The Maher/Eustace team lines up the three-year-old that has two wins from five starts.
He scored back-to-back wins at Kyneton and Seymour before taking on improved opposition at Moonee Valley last start.
60.5kg on the back isn’t ideal but he owns more class than this field and that could be telling here.
Race 3. (14:46) Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (1600m)
#6 – Raging Queen @ $3 – Bet Now
Phillip Stokes lines up the four-year-old mare that has finished in the money in eight of her 12 starts.
She’s a daughter of Akeed Mofeed that scored a good win three back and has run two placing since.
She’s going to get every chance from barrier two and Gary Lo takes the ride at 54kg. Those factors should make her tough to beat.
Race 4. (15:26) Aami BM64 (1050m)
#3 – Bronski Girl @ $4.20 – Bet Now
We’re going with another Maher/Eustace-trained runner here which has won two of her seven starts.
She is a filly by Shamus Award which scored her two wins consecutively this season, by a combined margin of 4.6 lengths.
She has plenty of ability and she will be fitter for this run having finished second at Morphettville last time out.
Punters are getting good value for money.
Race 5. (16:06) TAB BM85 (1200m)
#1 – Oberland @ $3.90 – Bet Now
Oberland is a professional winner of eight from 35 starts and he’s knocking on the door of a win.
The seven-year-old by Rothesay finished third at Ballarat against a field of 16 before running third at Pakenham behind Snitzkraft.
She gets some weight relief with Teagan Voorham in the saddle.
Race 6. (16:46) Schweppes Handicap (1200m)
#7 – Counter Drive @ $3.40 – Bet Now
Counter Drive is only a two-win gelding but he’s a consistent type which should be tough to beat here.
The four-year-old is coming off a tidy performance on this track and his experience at Morphettville is ideal for this.
He has eight starts for a win and four placings. That’s a better record than most in this field and we’re surprised at the odds on offer.
Punters should take the odds before they drop.
Race 7. (17:26) Schweppes Southern Speed BM75 (2046m)
#2 – Star Status @ $3.60 – Bet Now
Star Status is rarely far away from the prize and he’s coming off a good win at Gawler.
The four-year-old is a three-time winner from 19 starts and they couldn’t catch him last start. He scored by 2.5 lengths after settling on the pace.
Drawing barrier 10 isn’t ideal for this but he has good barrier speed and should be able to find a nice position in the run.
Worth putting in selections.
Race 8. (18:07) Winning Edge Presentation BM66 (1600m)
#7 – Allusion @ $2.50 – Bet Now
Team McEvoy lines up the four-year-old which has a win and two placings from four starts.
The son of Not a Single Doubt didn’t fire last time out but that came against a hot field and this is significantly easier.
Her maiden win came in Adelaide and it came by six lengths, so she has plenty of class and is worth following here.
