Premier Saturday racing returns to Morphettville with an eight-race card. We look at the best bets across every race.
Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:21) Adelaide Galvanising 2MW (1200m)
#4 – Lunar Light @ $2.30 – Bet Now
It’s hard to look past winning form and Lunar Light has looked impressive this campaign.
The Will Clarken-trained filly broke maiden grades in early January before repeating the dose at Murray Bridge last start.
That win came by 1.8 lengths as she stormed home late and we think another win could be on the cards.
Race 2. (13:56) Furphy Maiden (1050m)
#2 – Bludog @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Ryan Balfour lines up the debutante by Barbados, which hasn’t been seen at the trials. However, there is good betting support.
That’s usually a sign of things to come and it may be a reflection of the quality of this field. It’s not strong and he could take advantage.
Watch late betting moves.
Race 3. (14:31) AAMI Maiden (1600m)
#5 – Staying Strong @ $8.50 – Bet Now
There isn’t much to this field, so punters might as well take the odds with Staying Strong.
The three-year-old hasn’t shown much from two starts but he was always needing time and distance.
He gets that here over the mile and punters should expect him to be hitting the line with more power this time around.
Race 4. (15:06) Schweppes BM58 (1050m)
#1 – Valliano @ $6 – Bet Now
Coming off a win at Morphettville, Valliano looms as a good chance to go back-to-back.
The six-year-old has had a consistent career to date and having experience against this field will help his chances.
He gets some weight off his back with the claim and he only needs some luck from the draw.
Race 5. (15:41) Holdfast Insurance BM66 (2038m)
#8 – Liberty Lover @ $6 – Bet Now
Value is with Liberty Lover, which has been around the mark her last couple of runs and should go well in this.
The four-year-old mare ran second on this track two starts back before running third at Gawler last time out.
She made good ground in the straight and having another run over a similar distance should see her right in the mix.
Race 6. (16:21) TAB 0MW (1200m)
#7 – Just Chipping Away @ $3 – Bet Now
Just Chipping Away is doing exactly that after posting back-to-back placings. The mare was a winner prior to that before going well in two runs at Murray Bridge.
She has been in work for a while now but her recent form suggests she can win another race this season.
Drawing barrier two helps and we’re expecting a nice result.
Race 7. (17:01) Chapel Hill 1MW (1600m)
#3 – Kyshaka @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Kyshaka has won three of her four starts this campaign and it’s tough to overlook that form.
Trained by Peter Hardacre, the daughter of Time Thief is drawn perfectly in barrier two and she carries only 55kg on her back.
This race is there for the taking and we’re confident she can win another race. She has been heavily backed to win.
Race 8. (17:41) Medallion Homes Handicap (1050m)
#5 – Westport @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Team McEvoy lines up the three-year-old that was good enough to win three consecutive races last campaign.
She won those in Adelaide before testing herself at Moonee Valley, Caulfield, and Flemington. She took on stakes company and didn’t fire, but this is a big drop in class.
Punters should be confident of a good run and the odds on offer are generous.
