Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:41) AAMI Plate (1100m)
#1 – Bribery @ $1.75 – Bet Now
Punters will have to take the short odds for Bribery but she’s coming off a huge run at Gold Coast.
The daughter of Spirit of Boom finished third behind Queen Kay and that form is going to stand strong at this venue.
Prior to that, she scored a half-length win on this track and she should be tough to beat once again.
Race 2. (13:16) Adelaide Cup Day BM66 (1200m)
#2 – Atlantic Lad @ $5 – Bet Now
Value is with Atlantic Lad, which scored a two-length win on debut at Morphetville.
That win did come on a heavy track and we’re expecting conditions to be ideal this Saturday. However, he looks a nice type in the making and the odds appeal.
He’s going to get a good run from the draw and be right in the thick of the finish.
Race 3. (13:51) Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1600m)
#3 – Ballast @ $9.50 – Bet Now
Ballast doesn’t know how to run a bad race this season and his form warrants attention.
The seven-year-old has already scored three wins this preparation and enters this race with consecutive second placings.
He likes to ride the speed and that has won him seven races throughout his career. He’s good enough to win this at generous odds.
Race 4. (14:26) Schweppes BM68 (2043m)
#5 – Allusion @ $2.30 – Bet Now
Team McEvoy lines up the last start winner that could kick on with it now. He scored a half-length win at Gawler and he battled well in the straight.
This race isn’t an entirely tough one to win, so he should be able to sit just off the pace and come with a nice late run.
Most of the early money has come his way and we’re expecting big bets to be placed on race day.
Race 5. (15:01) TAB BM82 (1100m)
#4 – Shamino @ $3.70 – Bet Now
It’s tough to overlook winning form and Shamino has that in spades. The Phillip Stokes-trained gelding is shooting for four consecutive wins after posting a 1.3-length win at Murray Bridge.
He owns winning form on this track when scoring last October and that experience should see him going close again.
Enough Swagger won’t be easy to beat but Shamino could be the fresher horse on the scene.
Race 6. (15:50) Furphy BM72 (1600m)
#2 – Regalo Di Gaetano @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Regalo Di Gaetano is knocking on the door after consecutive third placings and punters are getting generous odds.
The Jolly-trained four-year-old owns four wins from 13 starts and that’s good enough to warrant inclusion in an even race.
He should get a good passage throughout and run close.
Race 7. (16:21) Holdfast Insurance BM68 (1200m)
#9 – One More Jack – Bet Now
One More Jack has been taking on easier company but winning three consecutive races is never easy to do.
The four-year-old likes to ride the speed and show a good kick at the top of the straight. We’re expecting him to roll forward from the wide barrier and adopt similar tactics.
Punters should be getting value odds.
Race 8. (17:01) Holdfast Insurance B’Day Cup (2043m)
#5 – Hasta La War @ $3 – Bet Now
Hasta La War is fine form having won his last four races and last five of six starts. The four-year-old has won his last four races by over 2.3 lengths in each.
That’s some good form leading into the feature race and we’re not surprised to see solid money coming for him in markets.
He gets in with a light weight and he demands respect.
Race 9. (17:41) Adelaide Galvanising BM64 (1050m)
#13 – Sonic Deed @ $5 – Bet Now
Sonic Deed looked the goods when winning by five lengths at Morphettville last start and she should be tough to beat again.
It was a comprehensive win from the mare and drawing barrier two is going to see her fighting out the finish.
Punters are getting nice odds given her ability.
