Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:51) Pike & Joyce BM82 (1600m)

#2 – Ritratto @ $2.05 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old gelding owns eight wins from 16 starts and he has four wins from nine starts at Morphettville.

He is undefeated in all three runs at this distance, so punters are getting an impressive type to bet on.

$2.05 is a great price from bookmakers and he could firm to an odds-on quote come start time.

Race 2. (13:26) Holdfast Insurance BM60 (1050m)

#6 – Three Tears @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Three Tears has looked good winning back-to-back races and the three-year-old could make it three in a row.

The daughter of Helmet comes off a 1.3-length win at Murray Bridge and she showed a good turn-of-foot in the process.

Getting a 3kg claimer helps, so put her on top.

Race 3. (14:01) Adelaide Cup Day BM68 (1100m)

#2 – Echoes In Eternity @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Michael Hickmott-trained filly comes off consecutive wins and punters get fair odds this time around.

She comes off a 1.3-length win at Morphettville and that was a good track debut for the daughter of Reward For Effort.

Punters should be confident of another top-level effort on Saturday.

Race 4. (14:36) Bill Swinton 80th BM82 (1050m)

#3 – Taken Off @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Taken Off is in stellar form after posting consecutive wins at Gawler and Morphettville. His most recent win came by 1.5 lengths and he wasn’t asked to do much.

The son of Toorak Toff is a five-time winner from nine starts and with two of those wins coming on the track, it bodes well.

Drawing the inside barrier helps and punters get value odds.

Race 5. (15:11) Zilzie BM78 (1800m)

#2 – Lord Vladisvostok @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The former Kiwi got back to winning form at Morphettville last start and he hit the line with good authority.

He is a son of Tavistock that showed good acceleration last start and there is plenty to like about that effort.

Punters should watch for any late betting moves.

Race 6. (15:46) Accolade Wines BM60 (1540m)

#11 – Worsfold @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Worsfold couldn’t have been more impressive on debut, scoring by 5.5 lengths in an effortless display.

The Nick Smart-trained four-year-old had good betting support on debut and more money has come for this run.

He opened at $3.30 and we wouldn’t be surprised if his odds firmed into around $2.40.

Race 7. (16:26) Terry Howe Printing BM64 (1200m)

#3 – Midnight Storm @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Midnight Storm is a five-time winner that owns 20 runs worth of experience on this track. That is some record and three of those have resulted in wins.

His most recent effort on this track was his first for the stable, so it was an improved effort straight off the bat.

He opened at $5.50 and steady money has come since.

Race 8. (17:06) Lord Reims Stakes (2600m)

#12 – Tralee Rose @ $1.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Tralee Rose has made a positive start to her career with four wins and three second placings from nine starts.

The Melbourne-based mare comes off a win at Flemington by seven lengths, which came over Sin To Win. That performance should see her going close at this level.

The $1.70 is expected given her recent form.

Race 9. (17:46) Furphy BM68 (1600m)

#5 – Unlaced @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Unlaced comes off an easy win at Murray Bridge and the former New Zealander has more wins in store.

The four-year-old mare is a three-time winner from eight starts and she has form around subsequent winners.

We’re expecting another top effort in the final race on the card.
