Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:46) Tab BM68 (1200m)
#4 – Three Legs In @ $2.65 – Bet Now
The Maher/Eustace team lines up the three-year-old gelding, which went close last start. The son of Toorak Toff finished only a head behind the winner and that came following a maiden win at Werribee.
This race won’t be any harder than that and punters are getting odds worth taking.
Race 2. (13:21) Tab Adelaide Cup Day BM82 (1600m)
#1 – Over Exposure @ $2.05 – Bet Now
Over Exposure is going to enjoy a sharp drop in class having raced against some stiff opposition of late. The McEvoy-trained gelding ran fourth at Flemington last start and he owns form behind the likes of Yulong January and Vega One.
Winning race has been a problem for him, but his most recent win came on this track and that bodes well for this Saturday’s event.
Race 3. (13:56) Furphy BM68 (1050m)
#7 – Fabulous Flipper @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Searching for three wins in a row is Fabulous Flipper. The six-year-old mare is in career-best form after posting wins at Murray Bridge and Gawler. Her most recent win came by 3.3 lengths and it was a dominant front-running display.
She needs to cope with the rise in class but dropping to 55kg helps and punters are getting good enough each-way odds.
Race 4. (14:31) Tab Cinderella Stakes (1050m)
#1 – Unstoppabelle @ $3 – Bet Now
Unstoppabelle is also nominated at Flemington this Saturday but if she races at Morphettville, she’s a great winning chance.
The Maher/Eustace-trained filly stormed home behind A Beautiful Night two starts back before struggling behind some Blue Diamond types last start.
Her second win isn’t far away and $3 is a fair price given her talent.
Race 5. (15:06) Dominant R58 Handicap (1200m)
#10 – Canidae @ $5 – Bet Now
Canidae looked the goods when scoring at Gawler earlier this month and although beaten last start, he could rebound nicely.
The son of Foxwedge runs best when he settles on the speed, so we’re expecting to see those tactics. The two-time winner meets a relatively weak field here and he could take advantage.
Race 6. (15:41) Fleurieu Milk Company BM88 (1100m)
#6 – Messerschmitt @ $2.25 – Bet Now
The Anthony Freedman stable is firing and he lines up the favourite in this. Messerschmitt looks the have the class edge after winning at Flemington fresh up and then running third behind Chicago Cub.
That form stacks up very nicely for this race and he owns a win at Morphettville, which only helps his chances.
$2.25 is a fraction short but he could start odds-on.
Race 7. (16:21) Schweppes BM68 (1050m)
#7 – Two Odd Socks @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Two Odd Socks is an experienced five-time winner that also has 17 placings. The six-year-old looked good winning at Murray Bridge two starts back and he backed that up with another tidy effort.
His second placing at Gawler last start should bode well for this race, and given his experience on this track, he should continue his good form.
Race 8. (17:01) Medallion Lord Reims Stakes (2600m)
#3 – High Bridge @ $2.50 – Bet Now
High Bridge didn’t fire in a slowly-run race last start, but he should get a better tempo this time around. The Chris Waller-trained gelding looked good earlier this season when winning by two lengths at Flemington.
He has been given a barrier trial to keep him ticking over nicely and they don’t usually run races as slowly in Adelaide compared to Melbourne.
Having 55kg on his back is ideal, so put on top.
Race 9. (17:41) AAMI 1MW (1600m)
#7 – Jane’s Angel @ $7.50 – Bet Now
Jane’s Angel was too good for them at Warrnambool last start and she could score again. The five-year-old drops right down in weight to 54.5kg and that bodes well.
The Price/Kent-trained daughter of Smart Missile has been steadily backed throughout the week and she should still run at value odds.
