We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Morphettville that features nine quality betting races.
It’s good to see South Australian premier racing back at Morphettville and we have found our best value bets.
Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:46) Schweppes Handicap (1000m)
#1 – God’s Penny @ $2.90 – Bet Now
God’s Penny is coming off a tough run at Murray Bridge but he could get back to winning form here.
The three-year-old was a winner on debut at Morphettville and although his form since has been fair, he meets an average field.
$2.90 is a fair price and racing against only six rivals will help his chances.
Race 2. (13:21) M&J Chicken BM84 (1550m)
#1 – Dexter You Devil @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Dexter You Devil is a professional winner that owns nine wins and eight placings from 27 starts.
The Shayne Cahill-trained five-year-old scored a win on this track only two starts ago. He didn’t quite fire last start but he got too far back in the run.
Drawing barrier two should ensure he gets a better run and there should be plenty of confidence come race day.
Race 3. (13:56) Dominant BM66 (1400m)
#4 – Perfect Route @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Perfect Route ran as a $13 chance on debut but a much shorter runner in the market when winning last start.
The son of Good Journey scored emphatically by 4.3 lengths at Murray Bridge and he showed his true potential.
Punters are getting better odds this time around and the $3.20 could firm into an odds-on quote come race day.
Race 4. (14:31) Furphy C2 Handicap (1250m)
#1 – A Knight in Paris @ $3.60 – Bet Now
The four-year-old gelding hasn’t won in some time but he owns ability and should find this easier.
The Will Clarken-trained son of Camelot ran fourth at Bendigo last start and he drops nicely in grade for this race.
He has one win from nine starts and that could easily be two wins following this race.
Race 5. (15:06) AAMI BM64 (1950m)
#9 – Zoffala @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Zoffala broke through for the win at Oakbank last start and he could kick on with it now.
Trained by Team McEvoy, the three-year-old sat just off the pace before hitting the front over the concluding stages.
He didn’t show much form prior to that but the confidence should do him plenty of good.
Race 6. (15:41) Terry Howe Printing 1MW (1400m)
#1 – Eagle Ridge @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Mike Moroney lines up the five-year-old that has form in Melbourne and that’s tough to beat here.
The son of Tuffontein has run close up behind the likes of Begood Toya Mother, which is Group 1 form.
We’re surprised he’s not shorter in the betting and punters could come for him late in the betting market.
$2.80 is a good price so take it awhile it lasts.
Race 7. (16:21) TAB BM68 (1000m)
#4 – Lake District Girl @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Lake District Girl will be vying for a better performance than what she showed last time out.
It was a disappointing run from the four-year-old, which had been showing good trial form leading into the race.
She’s a three-time winner with plenty of ability and she could get back to winning form.
Race 8. (17:01) Tab Adelaide Cup Day BM72 (1250m)
#11 – Symphonette @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Symphonette needs to find her winning form again but she should be able to go close against this level of opposition.
The four-year-old has experience running third at Caulfield just two starts back and there are no superstars in this field.
Drawing barrier 12 could make it tough to find cover but she’ll likely settle back in the run and come with a big finish late.
Race 9. (17:41) Chalk Hill Handicap (1550m)
#8 – Kyshaka @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Kyshaka has won three of her four starts this season and it’s tough to overlook that form.
The four-year-old is looking to back up a three-length win at Murray Bridge and that form should stack up nicely here.
She showed a good turn-of-foot and with a good ride from the inexperienced rider, she could win again.
