Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:06) Terry Howe Printing BM66 (1550m)
#2 – Sensitivity @ $2.40 – Bet Now
Sensitivity is a dual acceptor and could race in Melbourne, but her chances appear strong in Adelaide.
The Maher/Eustace-trained filly has scored two impressive wins of late and she is every chance of winning again.
Drawing barrier two is ideal and the field of five helps.
Race 2. (12:41) Holdfast Insurance BM78 (1400m)
#7 – Silverhawk @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Silverhawk is coming off a win at Murray Bridge and he will pay much shorter odds to win this time around.
It was a much-needed improvement in form after running some disappointing races this season, but the confidence could fire him up.
Money is coming for him and he could push the favourite close.
Race 3. (13:16) Tab BM64 (1550m)
#3 – Rogues Point @ $2.50 – Bet Now
Anthony Freedman lines up the three-year-old gelding that could find this easier than his recent assignments in Melbourne.
The son of Mawingo missed by a narrow margin at Ballarat last start and he doesn’t meet a harder field this time around.
He is improving and it is not surprising to see money come his way.
Race 4. (13:51) Adelaide Galvanising BM72 (1950m)
#4 – Sign of Ussuri @ $2.30 – Bet Now
The colours of Sign of Ussuri were lowered last start but he didn’t lose any admirers. He finished a nose behind the winner, which came after consecutive wins.
Team McEvoy has this three-year-old son of Fastnet Rock running well and we’re expecting him to be in the thick of it again.
$2.30 could firm into $2 come race day.
Race 5. (14:31) Schweppes Oaklands Plate (1400m)
#8 – Instant Celebrity @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Instant Celebrity was an instant winner on debut at Morphettville. The Phillip Stokes-trained filly scored by two lengths and she deserves her chance at this level.
The daughter of Not a Single Doubt settled at the rear of the field before coming with a big burst in the straight.
It could be a sign of things to come and we’re backing her in again.
Race 6. (15:11) Chapel Hill BM82 (1250m)
#8 – Left Hand Man @ $3.70 – Bet Now
Left Hand Man returned from a spell with a good performance for second at Murray Bridge and he could improve on that run.
The four-year-old gelding showed good form in Melbourne and Adelaide last campaign, which included back-to-back wins at Pakenham.
He owns two wins on this track and that experience will do him plenty of good.
Race 7. (15:51) Furphy BM64 (1000m)
#9 – Hypersonic @ $2.30 – Bet Now
There is plenty to like about the debut win of Hypersonic and it bodes well for another good run. He won by 2.5 lengths over Deevine, which scored a win at Gawler on Wednesday.
The three-year-old by Brazen Beau gets the inside draw for this run and we’re not surprised by the money coming his way.
He opened at $2.45 and expect his odds to firm into an odds-on quote.
Race 8. (16:26) Tab R58 Handicap (1250m)
#12 – Sono Dolce @ $11 – Bet Now
Sono Dolce isn’t far off posting a win following a solid fourth last time out. The Will Clarken-trained mare finished her race off nicely and the slight increase in distance helps.
She does need luck when racing from the back of the field, but the former Queenslander should run well at juicy odds.
The $11 is worth taking in an open contest.
Race 9. (17:05) AAMI BM58 (1400m)
#11 – Musical Query @ $26 – Bet Now
We are taking a risk with Musical Query but she could run well at generous odds in the last race.
The six-year-old mare has been battling in recent efforts but her best form comes at Morphettville with eight starts for a win and four placings.
It is an open contest and she could land some of the prize.
