There are even betting fields available in South Australia and we have our best bets at the ready.
Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:17) Thomas Farms BM68 (1550m)
#4 – En Francais – Bet @ Neds
Looking for consecutive wins is En Francais, who owns two wins and four placings from six career starts.
The consistent four-year-old scored at Gawler last start by 7.5 lengths, so she’s a classy type that should kick on with it.
Getting 2kg off her back only helps her chances of winning the opener.
Race 2. (12:52) Schild Estate BM80 (1550m)
#3 – Cashin’ Chex – Bet @ Neds
Cashin’ Chex is already a two-time winner this preparation and we liked his win at Gawler last time out.
The five-year-old son of Mettre En Jeu won by 1.3 lengths last time out and it capped off some excellent form.
Getting the inside draw and dropping to 53.5kg is ideal.
Race 3. (13:27) Congrats Flow Meter on 200 BM78 (2250m)
#2 – Lord Bouzeron – Bet @ Neds
Lord Bouzeron is getting close to scoring an overdue win after running second two back at Morphettville.
The five-year-old gelding ran well at Murray Bridge last start and a repeat of that effort should be enough to see him win.
It’s not an overly tough field and he could take advantage.
Race 4. (14:02) PFD Foods Maiden (1000m)
#1 – Eros – Bet @ Neds
Eros has been stealing punters money in all four starts in Victoria but moving to South Australia could work the marvel.
The Freedman-trained colt owns four placings from four starts, including a last-start second placing at Pakenham.
He should get every chance to break his duck on Saturday.
Race 5. (14:37) Fleurieu Milk Company BM82 (1250m)
#2 – River Twain – Bet @ Neds
River Twain shows his best form fresh up and he won his only start at Morphettville, which bodes well.
The Price/Kent-trained son of Headwater is also a two-time winner over the distance, so there are plenty of things in his favour.
Getting 2kg off his back from an inside draw is ideal.
Race 6. (15:17) Darren Pey Birthday Memorial BM68 (1000m)
#5 – Deevine – Bet @ Neds
Deevine won at Gawler two back before running third at Morphettville last start, so he’s a runner in form.
The son of Zebedee has yet to win from five attempts on the track but it’s only a matter of time before he breaks through.
Punters usually get each-way odds for Deevine, so put him on top.
Race 7. (15:57) Spring Carnival at Morphettville BM64 (1250m)
#1 – Bold Hoi Ho – Bet @ Neds
Bold Hoi Ho started his career in fine style with back-to-back wins at Bendigo and Sale and he could get back to that form.
Trained by Patrick Payne, the son of Niagara wasn’t far behind some smart types at Sandown last start and coming to Adelaide should help.
He’s another runner with an apprentice claimer riding.
Race 8. (16:32) Pike & Joyce BM64 (1300m)
#8 – Classy Kenny – Bet @ Neds
Classy Kenny was good enough to score back-to-back wins at Swan Hill and Morphettville before running fifth last time out.
The four-year-old son of Danerich is only a two-time winner but his confidence levels are up and he could be worth sticking with.
Look for each-way value odds on race day.
Race 9. (17:10) Grand Syndicate New Yearlings BM60 (1400m)
#8 – Revue – Bet @ Neds
Revue scored impressively to break maidens at Murray Bridge two starts back and we’re prepared to forgive his most recent effort.
The three-year-old son of Delago Deluxe finished five lengths behind the winner but he’s better for the spell.
He should come back stronger and it could pay to watch for any late betting moves.
