Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:56) Holdfast Insurance Handicap (1050m)
#5 – Daily Spirit @ $4.20 – Bet Now
The two-year-old filly did well to finish third on debut at Morphettville and she should improve with the run.
She finished under a length from the winner and was paying $40 to win. She is much shorter in the betting here and we’re confident that she can run well.
Race 2. (12:31) AAMI BM68 (1600m)
#3 – Sign of Ussuri @ $2.15 – Bet Now
Money is with Sign of Ussuri, which is coming off a dominant win at Murray Bridge. The three-year-old son of Fastnet Rock won by 5.3 lengths and he could win again.
It was his second win from nine starts and this race is there for the taking, so the $2.15 on offer from bookmakers is worth taking.
Race 3. (13:06) Tab Maiden Plate (1200m)
#13 – She’s Krupt @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Consistency has been a theme to start her career and she should be able to produce another top effort.
The three-year-old daughter of Krupt has placed in all three runs to date and she finished only a head behind the smart Flirting last start.
There is plenty to like about that form and punters are getting good odds.
Race 4. (13:41) Tab BM58 (1800m)
#2 – Cracksman @ $3.90 – Bet Now
The writing is on the wall after Cracksman finished second at Sale last time out. He gets back in his races and storms home late, so rising to 1800m looks ideal.
Trained by Danny O’Brien, the four-year-old should have won more than one race but he could add to that record here.
It is an even field and Cracksman looks a good chance of scoring.
Race 5. (14:16) Adelaide Galvanising BM82 (1200m)
#1 – Dexelation @ $5 – Bet Now
Dexelation is a last-start winner that could kick on with it now. The Jolly-trained gelding sat just off the speed at Murray Bridge and worked home best.
He has always been a confidence runner and now that he has broken through, he could put consecutive wins together.
A six-time winner at this distance, Dexelation should go well again.
Race 6. (14:56) Furphy BM72 (1050m)
#6 – Symphonette @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Symphonette scored an overdue win last start and she looks every chance of going back-to-back.
The Phillip Stokes-trained four-year-old won by just under a length and she can handle the rise in class.
Her four career wins have all been quality outings and she could snap up her first win at Morphettville on Saturday.
Race 7. (15:36) Zilzie Wines BM82 (1800m)
#5 – Grinzinger Star @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Looking to score an overdue win is Grinzinger Star, which finished third at Flemington last start and that is a good form guide.
The son of Reliable Man didn’t get all favours in the run and he should bring that form to Morphettville and go close.
The inside draw suits and he looks the standout bet in this race.
Race 8. (16:16) Caudo Vinyard Handicap (1050m)
#13 – Sonic Deed @ $5 – Bet Now
Sonic Deed needed the run last start and she is a past winner fresh up. The four-year-old mare runs her best races on this track and she should go well again.
In six starts at Morphettville, she has finished in the money in five. Her record includes two wins here and she only needs some luck from the draw.
Race 9. (16:55) Schweppes BM58 (1200m)
#8 – Von Saga @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Von Saga is searching for three consecutive wins after scoring twice at Strathalbyn. The five-year-old mare sat on the speed last start and kicked away for a 5.5-length victory.
She is likely to settle on the speed again and kick strongly once again. Punters are getting terrific odds and $6.50 is well worth taking.
